I think it's safe to say that Silverwood is DESPERATELY needing some attention with their assortment of flat rides. Personally I find the existing collection to be horrible, and now that they are getting a very good collection of coasters, it's time to focus on adding a couple of quality flat rides.
I'm sure 2009 will be the year to expand/revamp Garfield's summer camp, and truth be told, it probably should be first priority. However, I can' t see this costing that much money. And let's face it, that remodel is just for the kiddies.
So I say they also toss in a nice big new flat ride. Think of the possibilities! There are no good parks with decent flat rides in the entire Northwest...heck, arguably in the entire WEST COAST. Imagine what kind of attention Silverwood could draw with a Screamin Swing or a Giant Frisbee. The nice thing about these rides is that generally speaking they don't make you sick and so you'd have high capacity, and a ride that many people could handle.
I'd love to see Silverwood do this for 2009. What do you think? And what kind of flat(s) do you think they should add?

Hmmm...well if they don't put in a darkride then a couple of good flats will do the trick.
I have been on a Screamin' Swing and Giant Frisbee so here's my opinion on them.
For the Screamin' Swing, I have to agree with putting one in since it is a pretty fun ride. The only downside is the ride length is a bit on the short side, but that's really the only negative thing I can say about it. Heck, it would be great if they would get the larger 40 person swing so they wouldn't have bad capacity.
As for the Giant Frisbee, I have to admit I prefer the normal Frisbee which delivers a more insane finale. Though I also have to admit when it comes to the Giant versions of Huss Rides, the Giant Frisbee is the only one worth riding so it wouldn't be bad if SW got one.
As for other good flat rides..there's Zamperla's Kang-A-Bounce, Larson's Downdraft and a Huss Breakdance for starters.

I'd say Playland has a pretty good selection of flats as far as NW parks go. Anyway, I'd love to see a Topple Tower. They are lots of fun, you can theme them well as Dollywood has shown, and they can be enjoyed by the whole family as they aren't very intense but still fun. Silverwood really doesn't have to go all out with a major flat to improve things, either. Just adding something less expensive like a Falling Star or Chaos would be an improvement.
My personal opinion on flats is that I really don't care. I do not go to theme parks for flats. I would way rather see an improved Garfield or a dark ride. Heck, I'd just as soon see an update on their existing log flume or rapid ride before seeing another flat added.
And for the love of coasters people, let's not loose site of what Silverwood REALLY needs the most. TWO MORE TRAINS FOR THE WOODIES!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with Skylark, before anything new comes in...SW has to add a second train to both woodies period. The only fear I have in adding a second train is not stacking anymore, but the possible addition of trims which could very well hurt the quality of the ride. Sure it could be a nasty Catch-22, but the park has to put in a second train for both coasters. If they ever want to continue to grow, the coasters need to be ready for the crowds. *Oh yes, I just remembered something. If they put new magnetic brakes in, would that eliminate the need for trims due to the new brakes being pretty much impossible to fail?

Even if they did add trims, couldn't they just keep them wide open? I don't see why they would have to slow the ride down...the trims would be there in case something went wrong. There are coasters that leave their trims wide open.
And I will just comment that in my opinion the crowds already justify the second trains. They have for some time now.

I think some new flats would add nicely to the variety of things to do at the park, and would certainly be a draw, but I'm not a huge fan of flat rides myself. Some of them are fun, but I agree with skylark - I don't go to theme parks to ride flats.
However, I'll say that Screamin' Swings are pretty sweet.

yes 2009 is a good time for a new flat ride at the park but something big and something you dont see at your local traveling carnival.

Why would Timber Terror or Tremors Need Trims in order to accommodate Two Train Operation? I would think Trains can be Stopped in the Brake Run as it is if the Station is not Enabled. I'm pretty sure all each coaster needs are additions to the Safety System and a Transfer/Storage Track. I think when it comes to Flats Silverwood could use a Wave Swinger, Swinging Ship, Frisbee, Flying Scooters, or Musik Express.
