^ Ian, is it that the "Wash Your Head" on the Auto Spiel is so annoying or that you think the Station Lights look like Cats that make it so bad? Since we both know Lagoon likes to make "Changes" and "Adjustments" to Control Systems and Mechanics, is this what makes operating the Bat so Terrible? ;D

So it is mid-January and still no word from Silverwood about any new ride that I'm aware of...do you think this may have been pushed back and/or canceled?

I started a thread on this topic over at Coaster Fanatics and got this response from someone who I beleive to be a reliable source.
This is from SFGAm's side of things so I would say that it still sounds like it is going to happen. The ride itself is still in tact at SFGAm, however, so I am personally leaning more toward '09 if it does in fact happen.

^Interesting comments Skylark. I agree at this point 2009 is probably more likely than this year. Either way, I suppose I'm coming to terms with this decision a bit more, since the rumors are so prevelant. I guess my thoughts at this point are stronger in terms of the "something is better than nothing" frame of mind. I wish the "something" was different than another coaster that's going to create long lines in the park, but hey, you know it's going to draw in HUGE crowds because there's nothing like it anywhere in the Northwest. I mean, this region of the country doesn't even have a Vekoma Boomerang for crap's sake. I am hopeful that Silverwood gets Vekoma to agree to some sort of maintenance deal so that the ride is less prone to breakdowns than it has been in the past. But the capacity issues...well, there's no way around this one. You can't add a second train to Deja Vu. And I suppose I should say "who cares?" I mean, everyone that visits Silverwood is already used to the ridiculous practice of only having one train on every coaster, so why would this bother them? I guess Silverwood is OK with making people wait in long lines. However, as their prices continue to go up each year, guests are going to start asking themselves whether they want to pay $50 to stand in line for half the day at Silverwood, or $50 to go somewhere else where they can get more bang for their buck. Deja Vu is only going to bring in more people, which means every other ride in the park will have longer lines. Probably the smartest thing they could do is add a second train to TT and Tremors for 2008, and then add Deja Vu in 2009...this way at least you've improved capacity on two of the three coasters. It's odd because they've addressed the capacity issues so well with Boulder Beach. I mean honestly, who has two wave pools!? And they admit the reason they added a second was purely to address how crowded the first one was getting. This is an EXCELLENT example of directly fixing the problem before it got out of hand. Why can't they do the same on the theme park side? Time will tell, but eventually Silverwood must address this and I hope they don't wait too long. I for one am tired of standing in line for the coasters at this park.

^Very true Bud, I'd say one problem in the park currently is Capacity of the coasters. So even as much as I loath stacking...adding a second train to both woodies would be very helpful. Cosidering my experiences with operations, they wouldn't have trouble with stacking. (Unlike Wild Waves.)
But one major thing is bugging me, the park needs to start adding attractions that have good capacity or thoughtput. (Or both for the matter.)
Sadly, Deja Vu doesn't exactly show good thoughput even if Operations were top-notch. They need to add better attractions period.
To me, Silverwood could use a mine train coaster or Darkride. Mine train coasters can have a very good capacity due to the length of the trains. (That and I've never seen a major one with just one train.)
As for darkrides, sure they can be a bit pricy in account of the size and special effects...but if a good one is made then you can really do wonders.
One, make a darkride with a Omnimover system like the Haunted Mansion or Kings Islands defunct Phantom Theater and you got a people eater of a attraction. (For those of you that don't know what ride system is like, it's a continuous chain of cars that never stop moving except when a disabled person is put on.)
A Vekoma Madhouse has pretty nice capacity as well, the standered version most parks have holds 78 people per group. Not to mention there's not a madhouse attraction in the Northwest, so it will be new to many people.
As for the second reason a good darkride can do good for the park, it can not only be re-ridable...but also something the family can enjoy. (I do recall in a interview on this site they were hearing from guests they want things the whole family can go on.)

^ There actually is a mouse coaster at Wild Waves, but I do agree with you. I think a spinning mouse would be a great addition. Bud already mentioned a spinning coaster in another thread I believe, and of all the spinning coasters out there, a spinning mouse is probably the most economic. I also agree that a dark ride would be great. And of course, as anyone who has been on these forums for very long knows, I think the single most important thing Silverwood could do to improve their park is to add another train to both woodies.

^Wow. I guess I eat my words. I think it was nutty guy who broke it first. Good job man. Anyway, good for Silverwood. I still think the ride is going to frustrate some people, but as I've said many times already, it's better than nothing. I for one will be in line...
