Hey guys! One of the forum members from Theme Park Review posted some GREAT old adds he has from Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland, and Marriott's Great America. I know some of us have talked a lot off and on about how Cedar Fair has sucked all the charm from Knott's in recent years. These adds really bring back the whole feel of that park as I remember it from being there as a kid. Check them out! www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=488748

Thanks for the link Skylark.
I remember that old Knotts very well. Knotts had a real genuine feel to it...it was something you couldn't find anywhere else, and that's why it worked so well. The three "lands" (Ghost Town, Fiesta Village, and the Roaring 20's) were all very distinct and well done from a theming point-of-view.
You went to Knotts and found things you couldn't do anywhere else - not even at Disneyland. I can remember specifically thinking that Ghost Town kicked the crap out of Frontierland as far as theming, attractions, etc. I couldn't make that claim today, and the funny thing is, Frontierland basically hasn't changed at all since then.
I give Knott's 10 more years before it is virtually indifferent from Magic Mountain. If that.

Thanks for sharing that! Man, those ads bring back such great memories. While I'm too young to remember a lot of the old Knott's, I do have very fond childhood memories of the soap box racers (one of my all time favorite coasters), the parachute tower, and the kingdom of the dinosaurs.
Very cool stuff - thanks again!
