Wolfblood I enjoyed your creativity and passion. I know I am making myself look like the villain, but so far I am not impressed with any of these attractions except for Blood Bayou. I wouldn't be surprised if the log flume or GSC housed Mind Warp.

I'm very happy to see that they're adding a new attraction this year - that's awesome! I agree that it sounds like one of those haunts that is supposed to make you really disoriented and get lost, rather than scary/gory. Although perhaps it is really just a maze? Either way, I'll be looking forward to it. I'm very glad to see that Terror Canyon will have a different theme this year, and it'll be very interesting to see just how much it changes the haunt. I'm thinking this could go either way for me - depending on how much it changes, and how good it is. I'll also be interested in seeing how the train and blood bayou are this year. At least, I'll hope that the effects on the train ride are working this time! Like I said last year, when Nick Norton himself even makes fun of how many of the anamatronics weren't working, you know it had to be pretty lame! I don't know that I agree with the idea that the log flume would need to be re-vamped in order to work for a haunt (although a re-do of that ride isn't a bad idea at all!). Most of the ride is in the trees, and there's tons of good places people could hide and jump out at you - not to mention the tunnel at the end. I think it would probably end up being too short of a ride to be worth it, unfortunately, but I still think that would make an awesome haunted attraction. The year I went to Knott's, the log flume was my favorite haunt by a long shot, so that's mainly why I'd like to see Silverwood take a stab at it, however unlikely it is right now. I can keep dreaming, though, right?

Thanks Monkeybeast, Halloween is always a big thing for me so I have a lot of passion for it.
I also don't think you're the "villian" for not being impressed with the line up, that's your opinion and you're free to have it. That and you're not acting like a brat like I've seen on other Haunt boards, the kind who really grasp at the straws to complain about something over and over.
As for the Freak Farm in Terror Canyon, I don't think that'll be a full blown theme...but a new scene in the attraction. We'll have to wait and see on what it really is.
Also for Mind Warp, with "The maze" being in the name of the attraction, I can imagine it will be a actual maze and/or have maze sections. I've noticed there's been several ways haunts have done a actual maze.
- Most do it as a chain link fence maze with strobe lights with little to no actors.
- Wild Waves has done a few variations, in the last section of the defunct Trail of Terror it was a fully enclosed maze of black walls and a few mirrors. The only light scource was a strobe light that was on for a few seconds, then off for a few seconds. There was also a couple actors inside. This was really effective. The next year it was the Saw Mill Slaughterhouse, composed of just black walls, a few random props and a regular strobe light with no fancy pattern. There was also a few actors but unlike the previous year, it just didn't work.
- The most interesting way was done by Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights in 2001 with a maze called RUN. RUN was a combination of guided pathways with several chain link fence maze sections mixed in along the way. This allowed them to have themed paths for good scares, and the choas of trying to find the way out of the maze sections. The real kicker was the actors in the maze sections could move the chain link walls to block off paths and force people into other areas.
Once again, it's a "We'll have to wait and see" situation to see how Mind Warp is presented. Considering we'll have to escape through "The Vortex", this could be a cut above a simple maze.

Wolfblood, I have no idea how old you are, but if you are 16 and have some extra cash then I think you should audition. Silverwood could always use people with your passion for Scarywood.
"We are casting for zombies, freaks of nature, and creatures from the dead!" That pretty much describes Silverwood's HR department. stupid, I guess Captain Charisma John Jachim will no longer be my friend on Facebook after he reads that comment.
Idea: I think that if Silverwood truly wants Scarywood to be unique then they should invest more time in character development for the scareactors. They could use plants that get abducted by zombies and later guests could find these victims tied up as the zombies are harvesting their organs. I also think it would be cool to have zombie hunters who protect the guests during a zombie attack. I dont know, I just think some of these suggestions would be more fun than just having people hide and jumping out at people.

Since I'm 21, I'm certainly old enough to audition. While I would love to do that, unfortunantly I'm pretty much out of luck considering I don't drive and due to I live in Everett, WA. If I lived closer, I'd audition ASAP.
As for plants, I can see that working the best on the train. With a maze it's a bit trickier due to how you sneak them in and what you can do with them.
Busch Gardens Tampa has used plants now and then in their mazes, though from what I read it's sometimes been a bit too obvious. Case in point, they wouldn't have the plants wait in line with guests...so they just shoved them in with a group before they went in. Also, the plants wore a t-shirt that had "VICTIM" in big bold letters. (I wish I was kidding about that, but it actually was like that.)
Thankfully BGT wisened up on how they mark their plants, later on for a maze called "13: Eat Your Heart Out", the plants wore a shirt that had a heart on it.
As for what they can do with plants in a maze, it's just been the plant getting grabbed and pulled through a door. Nothing else. Hence why I think the train would be a better location for a plant, you can have that show element after they're grabbed.

Well it's just a couple days before Scarywood is unveiled, though unfortunately I have to wait till next year before I can go again. While my Mom and I were saving up, the plans have to be shelved since my Dad has to undergo heart surgery. While it's a bummer, family comes first, no matter what.
With that said, I'm most certainly looking forward to all of your reviews, and possibly pictures/videos etc. Also, since I do know some of you hold back on spoilers in your reviews...I would appreciate it if you PM'd me a spoiler version of your review so the surprises arn't given away to those attending this year. Many thanks!

So, has anyone been yet this year? I'm going tomorrow and haven't really heard much about how it is this time around. Normally there's a couple TRs posted by now, and I'm really interested in hearing what it's like...

I haven't gone yet but a couple of my friends went on Saturday. The only thing they said was, "Very crowded and not that great". Not sure what they didn't like. I am hoping to go this weekend.
