Just wanted to see what thoughts the group has. What do you think the next coaster added to the park will be and when? I was let in on a substantiated rumor about the topic the other day and wanted to see what the thoughts here were and how closely they match the rumor. I am sworn to secrecy at the moment, but I promise the second I can divulge the info I have, I will.

Personally, I'm not making any predictions of what or when...especially since this park has done a good job of surprising us. (I don't think any of us could have predicted the park putting in Aftershock after a string of additions.)
However, I will post what I hope for in certain catagories.
If it's a steel coaster, I hope it's brand new and has a custom layout. With the custom layout, I'll make a exception if it's a family/kiddie coaster like a roller skater, Mack Youngstar etc. But if it's not any of those, I hope it's custom.
If it's a mine train, I hope a good amount of theming is added since that does add to a mine train. (Hard Rock Park/Freestyle Music Park really proved that a mine train with little to no theming really pales to all the rest.)
If it's a wooden coaster, it's pretty much take your pick between Intamin, GCI or Gravity Group.

Wow. I never thought of this before, but a mine train coaster would be EXCELLENT, especially if it went back into the forest. Granted, that's quite a distance from the current theme park, but if they could make that happen...wow, what a great environment for a mine train coaster. And they are tyically very family friendly.
Now, realistically, I'd say we could easily see the park add a spinner or mouse coaster. First up, they are relatively inexpensive. They also have a smaller footprint. And finally, they are generally something the entire family can ride together. Much less intense than the current offerings. Silverwood needs something like this to bridge the gap between all their kiddie rides and their extreme rides.
jbishop, are you going to share your "inside information"? Would be curious to know what it is that supposedly the park has in store...

I think the park is pretty long overdue for a new coaster. And I mean "new"...not buying a used one from another park (although I am not trying to suggest that Aftershock was a bad idea at all!)
I do not want to see another wooden coaster. I think they've got this already down pretty good with Tremors and TT. I know the rumor a long time ago was for a dueling wooden coaster, but I would hope they would go a different direction for their next coaster. However, that's been mentioned before, so as much as I don't want to see it happen, I think this or something similar could be likely.
Although my hope has always been for a flying coaster back in the woods, I have serious doubts that the park would make such a huge investment, even if it weren't back in the woods. A big steel coaster of any kind would be high on my wish list, but in reality, I think very unlikely.
The smaller 'family-style' coasters that have been mentioned would be perfect, I think (spinner, wild mouse). I think even something like Pony Express would be pretty sweet. Something everyone can enjoy; small footprint; cheaper; potentially unique. Of all the things mentioned, I think this would be the most likely option, and I would love to see it happen.
As for a mine train? I hadn't thought of it either, but I honestly like that idea better than a B&M flyer back in the trees. If done right, that could be a sweet addition. The park could add a second stop to the train ride out in the forest, stick a few shops and eateries in there as well, and theme it all up to be an old west type place. Sounds like a winner in my book. But again, I think that's a bit less likely due to the cost at this point.
But, they just had record attendance last year, so who knows? Potentially anything could be on the table.
Those are my thoughts on the subject.
