Cool.
How are the lines? Anybody been on the ride yet?

I've not been on it, but the line is pretty long. It only opened yesterday afternoon for the general public and I heard that an hour wait in line was the average. I drove out there twice today dropping kids off at work and at 12:00, the line was very long already. I was told that it was worth every minute of the wait, though.

As someone who has been on one, they are not worth every minute of an hour wait, IMO. Glad it is finally open, though. I look forward to getting back to Silverwood later this year and riding Deja...er....I mean Aftershock. That is, if I can hit it first thing in the morning while the wait is 15 minutes less.

I'm with Skylark on this one. I've been on two of these rides (California and Georgia) and they are not worth an hour wait. For the first time, maybe. After that, no way. That said it is still nice to see Silverwood continuing to put in major attractions each year.

Whether it's worth the wait is rather subjective. To the people I talked to it WAS worth the wait. I don't ride coasters much, so it probably wouldn't be to me, but it was to them.

Hmmm...for me one way I would see the general public see Aftershock was worth the wait is 1. For most people it's something they've never seen before and 2. Interestingly enough, from what I've heard from the winner of the name contest...apparently what they did to fix up the ride worked since it's now really smooth. Now at this point I would say "I'll be the judge of that." But I really can't since I never found Manhatten Express in Vegas rough.

Your right about it being subjective but I think you will find that someone like yourself who has not ridden many coasters would be on the side that would consider it worth the wait. A seasoned coaster rider is not going think that much of Aftershock. Don't get me wrong , it is great for Silverwood and I'm glad they got it. Most people who visit Silverwood have never ridden anything like it and will no doubt be happy to wait and hour or more just for the experience. Someone who has been on a decent number of coasters, and a decent mix of coasters is simply not going to hold Aftershock very high. Aftershock being a world class coaster is one area that Silverwood is putting a spin on (and so would I if I were them). None of the GIB's have ever been very popular with coaster enthusiasts in general. In fact, it has been quite the opposite. Most well traveled coaster enthusiasts rate Aftershock mediocre at best.
