Hard to believe that opening day is two weeks from today. Me and my daughter will be heading over to go on Saturday. The weather is all over the place on opening days, but the park is usually dead which makes for many rides on the woodies. Anyone else going opening day??? - Barry

I love opening day. I won't make it this year but when I have been it has been great. Very small crowds, only some of the shops and food stands open, no Boulder Beach, and cool weather. It's sort of like rewinding the park back 15 years. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone as their only Silverwood trip of the season, but for those who can get there multiple times, opening day is one of my favorites.

I went on opening day one year, and it was very strange, but a cool experience nonetheless. When we first got into the park and were greeted with a hailstorm, I was a bit worried as to how the day would go, but it turns out that the weather cleared up and it was really nice. Very low crowds, cool temperatures, etc. Of course, the log flume and rapids rides weren't really on the itinerary, but everything else was great!
I won't make it to opening day this year, though

Heading to Spokane in a couple hours. The weather tomorrow doesn't look so good, but at least it's only $19.99 per person this weekend. - Barry

Opening day was great. The weather was in the low 60's and sunny. Both Tremors and Timber Terror are running excellent as usual. I posted a few pics at themeparkreview if you are interested. - Barry

The park also is stricter with loose articles on the rides this season. We like the guests to not take anything on the rides but if they do decide to take hats or glasses on the ride with them, we inform them that it is their risk if they ride with those articles on.
