I don't have any reason for suggesting this, but I'd love to see bright red and yellow...maybe throw some black trains in there. Something so absolutely different from everything else around it (both rides and scenery) that this thing just stands out like a sore thumb.
Your thoughts?

It's going to stand out like a sore thumb no matter what color it is. I have always thought red track with black supports looked pretty mean, but honestly, I really don't have much of a preference when it comes to what color they paint a coaster. I do think something that stands out would look better than something mild, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if the color stays the same right now, they are probably just trying to get it up as fast as they can for the 2008 year. I would enjoy the black supports and red track though, that sounds like an amazing color scheme.

Pretty much any giant steel coaster sticks out period, as for the color scheme red and black always looks good to me. Though I have to agree with Nuttyguy that it probably will stay the same colors this season.
Reading up on a another coaster board, Vekoma is comming over to make adjustments to the ride and Six Flags is sending people over to help train the ops for operation and other things for the ride. So depending on when they happen and how much time it takes, the park probably won't have enough time to repaint it this season. But for next season, I can see it being repainted no doubt.

I bet they will be red and blue or red and orange. I can see black being a trim color.

I actually had a dream about a week ago that Aftershock got repainted red and yellow lol. I think that this, as well as red and black would do good for Aftershock.
I'm going to have to agree with NuttyGuy. Lets look at it this way. The coaster has a projected opening date sometime after the 4th of July. Laws mandate any amusement park attraction one month of testing before being able to open. So, it's nearly April now, we have 4 months til July, and taking that one month of testing gives the park 3 months to get this coaster built, and repainted. With Six Flags and Vekoma coming in to help with adjustments, training, and ectera, I highly doubt the park is going to have time to repaint the coaster this season. So, If anything, I'm betting the coaster will be repainted sometime after the park's 2008 season comes to a close in September.

I like the black/yellow/red color scheme - it matches Corkscrew. I also thought it would be cool if they used "forest" colors, such as brown, forest green, etc. The only problem would be that the ride wouldn't stand out as much, but it's going to be so big that I don't think that would be too much of a problem!

cali i hope you are wrong. i think it would be a mistake to keep it the same colors. too many people associate those colors with the crap that has always been going on with the deja vu coasters. theyve got to set this thing apart and a new paint job makes a statement that this is not the same mechanics nightmare it has always been. i hope sw does it right and paints it up differently for the grand opening.

I hope I'm wrong too styvx. I agree 100% that it wouldnt be in the parks best intrest to leave the Deja Vu scheme in place. But then again, the park may not have a choice other than holding off on the repaint for next year's season. How many days does it generally take to repaint and let dry a coaster of Aftershock's size, disassembled and assembled?
