I just visited Silverwood on FRI 7/10/15 with my 2015 Season Pass. While I was there I was taking pictures with my iPhone 6 plus of just Silverwood and Boulder Beach's scenery, rides and buildings because I was using the pictures as reference for me to build my Silverwood theme park on PC Game called Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (RCT3). I also walked by family, took picture of food court across from tube and mat rentals at Boulder Beach and accidentally took picture of two kids. Then the family complained and two security people came over and talked with me about it. All I told them was "I was just taking pictures with my iPhone on just the scenery, rides and buildings of this park. Not the park guests by accident." They told me it's part of their rules/policy where I can not take pictures of park guests or something. Then the security guards asked me for my ID to get my full name and birthdate. I don't why they asked. When I got home I looked on at www.silverwoodthemepark.com/park/faq-rules.php for more information about this policy on taking pics of guests or something and I don't think it said anything about it. I'm now done taking pics of park for this 2015 season. Could you please tell me and explain about this situation of the policy?

I sent this out to security staff and here's what they told me: "I’m glad you made it out to our park the other day. I’m sorry you were stopped by Security without being given a thorough explanation of what was going on. You are correct that those policies are not posted online. This is a policy that typically only gets brought up when another guest complains about somebody taking pictures of them without their permission.
Our policy is that you cannot take pictures of other guest’s without their permission. You are free to take all the pictures of buildings and slides that you like, however, it can get complicated since it is hard to avoid taking a picture at a water park without there being lots of people in it. After the family complained about it we only talked to you in order to inform you about the policy.
Our Security Officers will sometimes ask for a guest’s name and birthdate. This does not mean you are in trouble. We put that information in our security activity logs so we can tell if we get multiple complaints from other guests about the same person. That information is for internal use only – the information is only available to our security officers here at Silverwood if they have repeated concerns with a guest.
You are most definitely not in any trouble. I hope this information is helpful to you! If you have any other questions or would like further clarification I would be happy to help."

It sounds like you just got caught up in their "Keep an eye out for creepers" policy, which is a good thing to have in place. You may have been stopped without reason, but I'm glad to see there are policies to prevent less-than-moral people from taking pictures of kiddies (or other guests, for that matter). No one wants their picture randomly taken without permission, so I can understand the concern.

lol, you're reminding me I still have an unposted Blood Bayou video on my youtube channel because it was the only recording I was making during my 2011 trip through Scarywood were I was stopped by security mid attraction and asked to turn off my camera. I'm till not exactly sure why though I believe that more camera rules may exist now than what I was told in 2011 (if I remember correctly their facebook said recording wouldn't be an issue).
I've often wondered if it was a guest complaint that lead to the request since I made no attempt to hide my camera while being granted entrance to the attraction and had already recorded terror canyon.
I will say I'd be curious to know more of their recording rules since my initial goal all those years ago was to try to document how the event changes every year. Granted I've missed the last few anyways...
But yeah I'm guessing you probably appeared to be taking pictures of people who were not in your party which probably set people off.
