I thought Blood Bayou was permanent but I could be wrong. Nick might be theming it this year but it doesn't mean it will be his way or no way. Give him a chance. He has a lot of experience in entertainment so he might know what he is doing.

^ I couldn't agree more. I would think having Nick running things would be a step UP, not down.
On a different note, I was at Silverwood last weekend on Father's Day. Although there is no topper track, Silverwood has done a TON of track replacement/repair on Tremors. It is running better than I have ever felt it run. Easily back to one of my top five woodies after falling quite a bit over the last few years. Great job SW!!!

That is great news Skylark. I'll be there in July.
Tremors had started to show some signs of old age. I'm glad to hear they gave it some TLC this year and will be anxious to try it out.

He has a lot of experience in entertainment so he might know what he is doing. If that's true I guess its all good then. Blood Bayou ought to take on a few twists to keep it fresh but if its a permanent install then that part is still the shining standout for the park. The train ride was great fun and if Nick handled that part then I guess I shouldn't worry as much. The terror canyon maze was fun but could use some reworking since it is the oldest offering. The clown carnival scare zone was cool but eh we'll see what they do I guess.

Actually, there is topper track, you just have to look for it. It was painted brown to match the color of the ride. The ride has topper track in the turnaround near the entrance to RCA, some of the first airtime hill after said turnaround, as well as some topper track in the bowl section after tunnel 2.

^I, too am glad to hear that Tremors was running better, and I'll be really anxious to check out the sections that have the topper track. I knew they put some in the turnaround next to the RCA entrance, and I would have been surprised if it had been gone this year. Can't wait to ride it!
As far as Gore Galore not running Scarywood, I'm not going to get too worked up about it. Nick Norton is a great entertainer, and I really doubt Silverwood would have made this move if they didn't think he could pull it off. Silverwood knows how much of a winner this event has been in the past, I don't see them making a decision that would seriously harm Scarywood's quality. With as good as everything else is that Nick is in charge of, this could be a huge plus.

"Topper Track" is probably the wrong term. I'm quite aware they replaced sections of track (even the top metal part). I was refering to the track that was rumored originally to be the same as what was installed on Texas Giant. It most certainly did not get that. Anyway, nice to see they're keeping it maintained. It definitely runs much better with the new sections. Hopefully they'll finish the job this off season and that sucker will really run great.

Hello, This is Kevin from Gore Galore.
I just wanted to post on this message board once just to say thank you to everyone who posted on the Scarywood threads prior to 2010 season. Your input did have an impact on a few things we did with the Blood Bayou. Such as the decorating the area around the Giant Goat Head. Your input was appreciated.
And just so your know, The Blood Bayou is a permanent installation. It may change but I am sure it would stay mostly intact. I would assume, if anything, they would make improvements based on what they thought it might have lacked.
The Norton Family has made plans for 2011. But Gore Galore is not involved in those plans. We were honored to help bring a great 2010 Scarywood to silverwood. It was a wonderful project, and I look forward to see what they do next.
I just didn't want any confusion about whether we were involved in the current project or not.
thank you again and enjoy your local theme park. Not many places have such unique independently owned theme parks such as this. And your attendance helps keep them growing.

Thank you Goregalore for your excellent work on Blood Bayou! I was amazed at the detail and flow of your walk through! When I first went in I didn't expect to see such high caliber work. I was blown away. You take the customer in and immerse them in a world away from reality. It is easy to forget the outside world. I'm an amateur haunter and just love what you did with Blood Bayou. Keep up the great work! I would think that just because Silverwood is taking on this year with Nick leading the team that it doesn't necessarily mean that they are not using other vendors. It is tough to make everything in house. I bet we will still see some things from Gore Gallore. I feel we will see great things ahead.

VoodooBones, thank you for the complements. It was a great project. And honestly, a bringing together of tons of talented people. Most of them already at Silverwood. Silverwood has an amazing carpentry crew. They did all the build out inhouse w our designs leading the way. Those designs were drawn up by me, but also with major input by the owner. The only thing we handled in whole was the theming of the Blood Bayou attraction. The entire themepark was also themed by inhouse staff. Again, we just helped with designs, ideas, and props. And yes, I am sure you will see more big things from Silverwood regarding their Halloween Event. They know what the potential is and I am sure will have big plans for the park as they do every year with everything they do. Aren't they putting in several new rides for the water park? And a couple rides for the children's area of the theme park? You can expect big things. Well thanks again. Again be thankful you have a privately owned theme park where you live. This is something special. thanks again to the Norton Family for allowing us to work with them on this last years project. We hope to get to help them again sometime in the future. GG keep gore alive! oh and if you would like to see some of the pictures we took of the Blood Bayou. www.gore-galore.com/gallerythen go to the menu in upper left hand corner and select Scarywood
