Silverwood has put more money in this event because last years Scarywood was not well received within the theme park industry so it is crucial for them to make an impact this year. Gore Galore has been hired to improve the production values as well as teach Silverwood management the proper methods of the traditional theme park haunt.

I wasn't even aware Silverwood considered itself in comparison to the industry. I figured they would just gage response with their own target audience. The event definitely did need improvement though. It always seemed the plan to expand though if you look at the surveys. I can't wait for the new maze sounds like it will be the premire experience of the haunt it'll be a nice counterbalance to the Trail which can hopefully tie itself together a bit more strongly. The Train still remains the biggest weakness though, here's to hoping they muzzle scary jerry.

Just as a quick heads up, I just recieved the newsletter from Silverwood and they mentioned that the new site for Scarywood will launch on August 6th.
That's certainly a lot sooner then last year. (Last year the site was launched August 24th.)

Alright then, we got a little update. Silverwood has put out a little teaser site for Scarywood, and it looks like the site will launch in a couple of weeks. Just follow the link below, or go to SW's main site since they also have a link on the front page. www.scarywoodhauntednights.com/

I know this industry VERY well as I work in it and have quality contacts in some of the bigger parks. I always have to laugh when I tell people that I know Kevin Eld with Disney DCE, but I've never met Gary Norton owner of Silverwood. I think the website looks great. I think the tagline is Silverwood's way of poking fun at themselves for the way Scarywood went last year. I don't want people to get me wrong, I really enjoyed my time working at Scarywood, but management operated it like a haunted house and not a haunted theme park event.

I hadn't been to either until last year haha Silverwood felt a bit better then my local haunted house but then again it was their first year too . I hope the event has much more ot offer this time. Silverwood needs to offer more in general though I think . Any word on if they'll muzzle Scary Jerry? I can understand of the train ride is to be for the kids but that ride was ALL talk and the talk never stopped.

I wonder if the pricing will remain the same? I'm looking forward to this years event!

^ Let's see now, last year's pricing was $20.49 for general admission without access to Haunted Attractions, and $27.49 for general Admission with access to Haunted Attractions.
Looking at Silverwood's main site and the article from the Spokesman Review, the price that's being shown is $24.99 . The main site explains that's pretty much general admission with access to everything, rides, shows and Haunted Attractions.

I'm hoping that the scare zones each have their own theme. I think this Scarywood will either be very good or a flop.
