I'm going to Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park with my Family and Relatives on August 3-5, 2009. We're Arriving on Monday and Checking out on Thursday at the RV Park. We're going to play there on Tuesday and Wednesday!!
[glow=red,2,300]My Family changed their mind in Late July, and they said that we're not going this year because some of us can't afford to go!!![/glow]

Well, we were up this past Friday, so here's my report: First up, while the road work is much needed on 95, that is going to be quite a pain in the neck to deal with the over the next few years - but I'm sure it will be great when it's done. Overall, the weather was PERFECT, to me. Not 103 like last year, not too cold, but nice and sunny with a very slight breeze to keep you cool. Excellent weather for being at the waterpark. Water park was great as ever - I still get blown away by how nice of a water park it is. Well worth the drive from Seattle each year. Nick Norton's magic show was, again, awesome. That guy is such a great entertainer, and his show is a nice little 'gem' in the park to check out each year. I noticed a lot had changed this time, and it was great to see some new tricks. Although the food selection is improving (I see we've added a Mexican Burrito stand in Boulder Beach...that's nice), I really think they need to add a few more places that offer alternatives to burgers, dogs, and pizza. The Asian place inside BB is always a nice change, and I will not ever miss out on Lindy's again, but it would just be nice to have a little more variety. I am honestly surprised that Lindy's always seems to be so empty - it's the best food in the park, and it really is not that expensive. But I digress... All the rides we were able to get on were great as always - the only one we missed out on was Tremors. I hate to complain, but Timber Terror's wait was ridiculous this year. We got in line just before 8:00pm, and the line was outside the main entrance to the ride. I figured it wouldn't be too bad of a wait, especially since we were just planning to grab a middle car seat...well, not so much. I see Tremors run completely through its circuit TWICE, before TT has been dispatched once. This trend continued as we stood in line - Tremors would go two times for each single release of TT. We ended up standing in line for a middle car for TT for over 45 minutes - why? Because there was one guy running the ride. I would not have been upset if I had seen him doing all he could to get the train out quickly, but he was spending several minutes talking to people that were on the ride. Sometimes he would carry on a conversation with one person for upwards of a minute or so while checking the restraints, then move a row back and talk to those people for a minute or so. It was just plain ridiculous. I am all for being into your job and trying to make the guests happy, but when you are taking that long, it ruins the guest experience. I overheard others in line that were very frustrated as well, so it wasn't just us. By the time we finally got into the buidling, I didn't care about talking to someone, I just wanted to get on the coaster! So, whoever was running that ride - if you are the only one there again - pick up the pace a bit! Just for comparisons sake - we went over to Aftershock right after TT, and got FRONT CAR in 20 minutes...need I say more? We would have been able to get a ride in on Tremors if TT hadn't taken so long. Also have to make note of the new "garden" area back by the ferris wheel and next to Garfield's Summer Camp. Very cool little area to check out if you get a chance. I've really noticed all the extra flowers and plants the park has added in the last couple years, and it really has made a difference. I also liked all the new signs for the rides that were put up. All small improvements for this year, but it was nice to see the park get spruced up a bit. So, at the end of the day, we were tired but satisfied with another great trip to the park. Here's hoping for a new ride next year...

I had a very similiar experience waiting in line for TT this year. The ride op was not chatting wtih people per se, but there was only one ride op and it was very slow as he had to check every restraint himself and then run back to the front to dispatch the train. Not sure if they were short staffed or what, but you'd think they'd keep the coasters fully staffed.
I'll post a TR when I have more time...
