We have all heard for several years that the parks intention is to eventually build an on-site hotel, sounds like somewhere in the area of Main Street. I think this is a brilliant idea and regardless of the cost, I'd love to do it, especially if they spruced up Main Street with some free late night movies or dining. Sounds like eventually this will happen. The question is, when?
Obviously the park needs to reach a certain size before it makes sense. Many agree that SW is a 2-day destination but does it need to be more before an on-site hotel is added? What would be needed to get it to that point?
Curious your thoughts if:
1) they are ready for a hotel, and, 2) if not, what would it take to get them to that point.

First off, I totally agree that a on-site hotel is a great idea. No matter where it goes, it will be very nice to have one.
Now in my opinion, while they could build it right now since people do think it's a 2 day park and sales of 2 day admissions keep rising.
However, I would wait a bit. For me I would like to see a few more attractions in Boulder Beach and possibly a expansion of a new land in the main park before a hotel is put in.
Now of course before a expansion in the park I would like to have a second train for the woodies. As for a possible new land, maybe a ghost town or some kind of northwest/forest theme?
As for new attractions to Boulder Beach, any kind of bowl slide or tornado would be nice. (Especially ones that are enclosed and have special effects to make things interesting.) I also think boogieboard simulators are a lot of fun.
Oh yes, I'd love to see this diabolical creation hit U.S. soil. (Epecially the very first one of it's kind was removed from Action Park.)
One more thing, I certainly wouldn't mind them building it soon anyway since I remember in a interview on this site with Nancy, that after the hotel is built...seasonal events like Christmas and more importantly HALLOWEEN would be able to be really thought up.

I do know that there was supposed to be a hotel added as a future development, the hotel was planned if I remember right Over by the RV Park, I also saw on a future development plan that they had a golf course, convention center and a lot more rides especially (roller coasters) on the back end side when u take the robbery train along with the property across bruner road over by Timber Terror/Aftershock. I do know they do plan on making this park huge someday from the looks of it.
I don't know how much of this has changed, but this was 6-7 yrs ago I saw the map back when I used to work in at SW

not excited about the golf course or convention center. but more coasters and rides would be very welcome. the place is getting much better but it is still not a 'great' park imo.

I think a hotel would do very well right now. I hear people talking about how nice it would be to have a hotel instead of camping. The golf course and convention center is a great idea. Think of the corporate team building events and the revenue that could bring in.
I still would like to see more theming done. It looks like they did do some cleaning up around the log ride.
