Tell me what you think of the following ride concepts.
The Soul Keeper: A haunted house and wooden coaster hybrid.
Storyline: Darren Van Pelt owner of the Silverwood cemetery discovers the crystal of darkness that gives him powers to capture souls and deliver them to the evil spirit.
Guests would enter the abandoned mansion where they would be confronted by Van Pelt. Guests would try to escape the evil minion and his house but would soon end in the sacrifice room where they appear to be doomed. After it seems like all hope is lost the Guardian Spirit appears and confronts Van Pelt while the guests board the Soul Keeper to take them to sanctuary. The coaster would then take guests through the house while Van Pelt and the Guardian Spirit battle, through the cemetery and finally to the Sanctuary where the Guardian Spirit tells them they have been saved from the power of darkness.
The Search For Sasquatch: Simulator
Storyline: Many people believe that the the legendary Sasquatch is just that a legend, but the Sasquatch Research Foundation knows that the Sasquatch exist and lives in the Silver Woods a place known to be the home of myths and legends. Lately poachers have been seen trying to capture the legendary sasquatch as well as any other mythological creature they can get their greedy hands on and the S.R.F. needs our help to disrupt the poachers and make sure they never come back into the Silver Woods.
Guests would enter the S.R.F. headquarters where they would get in jeeps and head out into the Silver Woods where they would encounter real and mythological creatures as well as avoid the traps set by the poachers.
I'm not sure how they could make this one, but it would be a big budget project and would have to be very well themed. This attraction would be similar to the old Back to the Future ride, but with much better technology. The ride attendants would act as members of the S.R.F.
I like both of these and they both could give Silverwood a dark ride which is something they need badly. The one that I can see happening is the haunted house- wooden coaster hybrid. The storyline would be different, but with the success of Dollywood's Mystery Mine and with Gary Norton's statement that he would like a new wood coaster in the next couple of years I think an idea like this is entirely possible.
