if SW could get a new flat, what should it be?
i like the giant frisbees and think this would be great, but i don't know if their crowds can support something like that.
what do you think?

PGA is adding a disco this year that is highly themed. They are actually trying to call it a coaster but it is simply a disco with a hump in the middle. I think Silverwood could have a lot of success with a flat like this. Concept art Construction photo

I don't see them ever spending a whole lot on flat rides. They seem to want to save up their money for big attractions (TT, Tremors, Boulder Beach, Panic Plunge) which is fine by me. I'd rather have a big, new attraction every 2 years than new flat rides every year which I probably won't ride much anyway.

That survivor ride looks interesting....what does it do exactly? I'm not sure I've seen one of those before. Looks cool though.
I think silverwood does need to add some more unique flat rides...all the existing ones are too "carnival" like in my opinion. Not that that's a bad thing, but it would be cool if they got some of the newer flat rides. I agree with what Bud Parsley said in that I'd rather have new big attractions like the drop tower, but new flat rides every once in a while aren't bad ideas either. It would at least be something new...better than going 4 years without doing anything new like they did between Tremors and Boulder Beach. As far as a giant frisbee goes, it would be a good addition, but those look like they'd make me sick. Then again, that's kind of the point in the first place.

skinnyguy, this type of ride goes back and forth along the track, higher and higher, and faster and faster. The actual car is a giant disc that spins in circles. if you think a frisbee would make you sick, this one would for sure.

Silverwood wouldn't have to put in one like PGA is. A plain Disco or any number of other higher scale flat rides would help that park a lot IMO. I would also like to see Silverwood spend money on big attractions but right now it is an extremely unballanced park as far as rides go. The drop tower helps but its not like they went all out on that thing. Even the Puyallup Fair in western Washington was able to put in an S&S tower that launches you and then drops you and that place is open about 3 weeks total a year.
They deffinately skimped on the tower but I would rather see a cheap one than none at all. Skinnyguy is right though, all they have now is your standard county fair carnival rides in the way of flats.

Yes, it's better than nothing, BUT, if Silverwood wants to attract big crowds from Seattle and Portland, they've got to add things you can't get anywhere else (such as Timber Terror and Tremors).

^Agreed.
The main point I was trying to make sense the whole flat ride thing was brought up is that Silverwood is behind the game. Other smaller regional parks across the country such as Knobles and Holiday World (two parks I would compare Silverwood with due to the fact that they are known mostly for there wood coasters) have at least one high end flat. Heck even Oaks Park here in Portland has a Frisbee and I could spit across it if I wanted too.
Personally I think the best and most logical thing for Silverwood to invest in is another woodie. Follow Mount Olympus' and Holiday Worlds lead and get the Gravity Group to put in something like Haydes or Voyage. The entire coaster enthusiast comunity would go nuts. It would permanently put Silverwood on the map for a must visit destination. I know peaple are always saying they want to see a B&M floorless or Intamin Hyper and honestly so would I but it isn't going to happen. Another woodie or possibly a family steel coaster like Powder Keg is there best bet IMHO.
