Howdy all. Just got back from my annual trip to Silverwood and noticed several interesting things while walking around:
Firstly, just wanted to say that SpinCycle was really cool. Quite tripping going all the way around while spinning at the same time. Definitely a nice addition to the park. I was really impressed with the quality of the Lifeguards. They definitely take their jobs very seriously. Ellis & Associates (the people that train Lifeguards for a lot of major parks... I was trained by them when I worked at Blizzard Beach at Disney World) does a great job of training them! Last thing of note I wanted to mention is the landscaping and greenery. Silverwood never ceases to amaze me... Their landscapers are AMAZING. The park is always so full of colors and life, especially in some of the little areas where they've carved out logs, made them into water fountains, etc., and I got some beautiful pictures thanks to them!
Now, on to some of the construction that I noticed while walking around the park:
It looks like they're clearing out a section over by one of the turnarounds of Tremors for a new ride. I didn't really think too much of it since it looked like they'd literally just started. Also of note was a little path and clearing over by the exit to Thunder Canyon. There were workers building SOMETHING, though I really couldn't tell what. It almost looked like the frame for a building with lots of pipes and such almost laid out in a maze-like pattern. Could this be the rumored interactive dark ride that I've been hearing about the last few years?
Most evident, though, was construction going on in the Boulder Beach section of the park. From the top of Avalanche Mountain you can see where they've leveled ground over by Polliwog Park. There are some green pieces of slide laying around as well as a few big tractors and piles of dirt, as well as a concrete structure that looks like it might turn into some more bathrooms.
Anyone know if anything's been confirmed yet? I was excited to see so much stuff going on! I wonder what they're planning?
