I think a lot of emphasis is being put on revamping what has been relatively the same for a while (Blood Bayou, I'm talking about you). And using the TOI as a location is a lot more flexible than TC. But I would guess that more things will eventually fill TC again. And I can imagine eventually they might start using parts of the water park since they'd have all of September undisturbed to work on more haunts. The weakness of using the water park is the distance from all other attractioms. Mind Warp didn't do so great off in its corner a few years back. The best tactic is going to be keeping the opperations central so the event feels lively and active. You don't want guests traveling across too mamy long eventless spaces of land. I suppose thats why scare zones will be so important to perfect.

I think there is no haunt in Thunder Canyon due to safety concerns for the scareactors. After my debacle last year I wasn't going to write anything in the Scarywood 2014 topic this year but I will speculate that there will be a bigger focus on the street/scarezone experience than ever before which should be cool.

My speculation for Quarantine Zone is that it will be used as the queue entertainment for the Zombiewood Express.

isn't Quarantine Zone always used as entertainment at the entrance to the park? I do think it could be stronger though I often wonder if it isn't the scare zone that's getting weaker but rather the front of the park is ending up with more mixed crowding with half the guests waiting for Zombiewood Express and the other half simply walking to other areas of the park. I wish they could add some more dimension to the theming there or come up with some scare events or something.

I was there this past weekend. Overall another good year, felt similar to last year but most everything was improved. Here are my random thoughts/comments: -3Dementia was a full walk through again (not split in half), so it was way longer. Much better this year. -Train Ride was mostly the same but felt a bit shorter, especially the battle out at the mine. But there were other sets along the way which was nice. -Ancient Ruins was the only downer for me this year - last year was way better. Having it in the Thunder Canyon trench definitely makes the experience better - I hope it gets moved back. -Total Darkness was very noticeably longer and better this year. -Blood Bayou was about the same as always but with a few new scenes inside. -Scare Zones throughout the park were WAY better and much more elaborate. This was the biggest thing I noticed while there. Last year it felt like the park wasn't as decked out, but this year it was incredible. Seems like this was the big focus for this year because it really showed. -Really bummed out that they are not doing the free May 2015 tickets this time - why did they get rid of this? -Recommend mixing up the music playing around the train station - Rob Zombie got really old really fast!! I must have heard "Dracula" at least 10 times while there. I liked the creepy music they used to play...the heavy metal felt kind of out of place... Anyone else been yet?

Soooo.....did anyone else go this year, or was I the only one again? Still really be curious as to the reason why they didn't do the free May 2015 tickets.

I definitely wanted to go, but unfortunately my schedule was packed due to the haunted attraction I work at. I know I'll return to Scarywood eventually, but this year wasn't in the cards.
As for no free tickets in May, I do have a theory. I always felt the free ticket for May was something to attract people in the early years of the event. Though now that the event has grown and gained a audience, they no longer need to offer the free ticket in May to entice a crowd to attend the event.
