Seriously, (and I'm sure I'm in the minoroty here) my first reaction after all of the "publicity' is a great big... *yawn*. Nice to see them adding something but this certainly doesn't fit the bill. Not even the "second talled ride" unless you don't count a roller coaster as a ride. Although Silverwood and every other theme park in the world put their roller coasters under the category of "Rides" when you go to their web site. I don't know, just very underwhelmed. As much as I wanted a coaster of some kind I knew to keep my expectations in line both with the descriptions and definitely once they announced they were adding more than one ride in a single year. I wasn't expecting a roller coaster at all. Just was expecting something....more? I'm really not trying to be a downer but this is certianly a stretch compaired with what they were saying with all of their teasers. Sorry, but a frisbee, wether it goes upside down or not, just doesn't get me excited. At all.

^I will agree that all the teasers and hype seemed a bit much once they announced it, but I kind of figured that might be the case in the end even before it was announced. I especially thought the "one-of-a-kind" clue was a bit misleading. True, it's the tallest of its kind in the country, but it is, after all, a frisbee ride. And I totally agree with you about the "second tallest ride" thing...that was really strange. Unless they were really trying to clue people into the fact that it wasn't a coaster, but still...you've clearly got more than one attraction at the park that's over 102 feet.
But I'm still glad for the announcement, and I agree with Bud that it's really going to be an eye-catcher. There's really nothing quite like it anywhere even remotely close to the Northwest, so I think a lot of people are going to be impressed. And more crowds means even more possibilities for the future.
What I'm really upset about is Silverwood quickly debunking the potentially epic argument that we could have had on these boards about whether it goes upside down or not. Now there's nothing left for us to split hairs over!!

I dunno I think while it might've been overhyped a bit they did the right thing in building anticipation for this announcement and keeping the fanbase engaged. Ever since Scarywood began I've had a more perpetual interest in Silverwood than I've had in the past were it was more of a small time park that existed three hours away from me. Not quite on the level of a Disney multi year construction deal for me to follow just yet.
I dunno when they'll reach the point were we'd have reasons to sit around and drum through odd details. The fact that it goes upside down is going to make it a big draw but also make alot of people chicken out I think.
I'll admit when its small additions like flats part of my brain wants to fast forward to a year were we see a coaster or something. I'd also be curious if they will upgrade the magic show area some year since it seems to be the least professional building they have now.

^ Considering the ride isn't scheduled to arrive at the park until the 15th of next month, I don't think we'll be seeing much construction-wise until next month. (No idea when the Barstormer arrives)

I'm disappointed that they didn't do a dark ride. I wonder if they ever will go with a dark ride. I'm more of a theme park ride person and less of a thrill ride person. I climb mountains, fly airplanes, and ride motorcycles. I can get thrills and excitement. I want entertainment and escape. They don't call them "Theme Parks" for nothing.

I think some type of dark ride will be built in 2-3 years.

I think some type of dark ride will be built in 2-3 years. That's a pretty quick timeline. I'm happy as long as expansion continues and they keep putting out new developments to get excited about. There'll always be some flatride expansion years and as far as this one goes it isn't too bad. I'll admit I too prefer escapism its part of why I mostly only visit the park during Scarywood and not too much at other times of the year. If they do a darkride I just hope it turns out to be something unique. I keep wondering about theme enhancements myself. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more theming spread out around the park now that there's such a spiffy entrance happening. I keep wondering if other areas like the magic show building could get an upgrade of some sort.
