I'm betting that whatever it is, it will be put into the new area up front (former small parking lot) that was fenced in last year. That is the ideal spot for a big attention-getting attraction, and they seem to be hyping this one up quite a bit.
Anyone have any construction pics?!?!

^ I'll admit I'm not too sure it'll be put in that spot, it's a big spot yes, but with it's placement right next to Garfields Summer Camp that would seem an' odd choice to put a Thrill ride.
Either way, we'll finally know what it is soon since the park mentioned they'll announce it on the 22nd.
Interestingly enough, the picture they use for it is the snowy Main Street backdrop they used for their first teaser...only this time there's also a inverted image of it on the top of the pic. Possibly as a another hint we're going upsidown?

I find it interesting that most of the picture hints include a winter theme. Anyone else catch that? Also, as Wolfblood said, they'll make the announcement on the 22nd.

^ I wouldn't take too much from the pics being from winter, after all they started teasing this in December and when they were posting pictures of the park in snow.
Now the park recently put up another teaser, this one a picture of Coaster Alley with the statement "This will look a lot different this season". The comment on facebook mentions that Silverwood's skyline is going through a change for the 2013 season.
Based on the teaser, I think it's safe to say the new ride is going in Coaster Alley.

One thought that occurred to me lately is that when Tremors opened, it was considered "one-of-a-kind" since no other wooden coaster went underground four times at that time.
To me, that gets right to the heart of what Bud was saying - the possibilities for what this new attraction could be are so wide open at this point it's nearly impossible to guess. But each clue gets me more excited - sounds like it's going to be big, that's for sure.
January 22 can't get here soon enough.

A Coaster Ally expansion sounds great. To me the spot near Garfields Camp would be more ideal for a darkride or maybe a Battle Splash (or maybe a Battle Splash would be more suited near the water park area?). Something family friendly but also something thats better off with most of it hidden.

So it's been said that whatever this is, it will be 102 feet tall. Did some checking and that new Vekoma Stingray in China is 103 feet. 1 foot difference there people, and while it is a coaster, it does come close to the mark there, and, it would be the first in the US, let alone North and South America.
If Silverwood is bluffing and just saying ride, not saying coaster, it could be plausible. This new ride is purportedly the second tallest ride in the park. Assuming we're using "ride" in place of "coaster," Aftershock stands at 191ft tall, with Tremors coming in second at 100ft tall. If a 102ft tall Stingray is what we're looking at, it would indeed be the second tallest "ride" in the park.

The hints just keep coming, and Silverwood posted another teaser.
This one says "You will be turning 360 degrees, two different ways, on our NEW ride. This just may be your view..."
It then shows a strange picture of the top of Timber Terror's lift hill zoomed up close, kinda of like a fish eye camera with the rest of the park below in a circle. The picture has the words 360 degrees on top, and x2 on bottom.
Looking at what others are guessing, some are saying it's a Vekoma Stingray, others are saying it could possibly be the new compact coaster that Screamscape posted a layout of. (Though looking back on things, the layout of that was actually purposed for the lame-brained and never passed Orlando Thrill Park...an' it's now said that ride is being built in China.)
Some also think it's a flat ride, and while some people think it's a Zamperla Giant Discovery...I have no idea why some people are still thinking it is since it doesn't match up with the teasers.
- The 102ft teaser : The park mentions 102ft for a reason, and a Giant Discovery hits about 147 feet at full swing. - The "One of a Kind in the States" teaser : Kennywood put in a Giant Discovery last year. - The "360 Degrees, two different ways" teaser : A Giant Discovery only spins a full 360 degrees via the seats and nowhere else.
With all that said, I can firmly say the ride is not a Giant Discovery.
Another ride that's being mentioned a lot is Technical Park's Flying Fury ride (A pretty wild flight simulator). Now while the ride would certainly be one-of-a-kind in the States, and it's possible to perform a 360 two different ways...however it doesn't fit with the 102 foot teaser. The Flying Fury has a dynamic height of 40 meters (About 131 feet).
Once again, the biggest issue with guessing any kind of ride is that 102 foot teaser.

So what do we know about the Vekoma Stingrays anyway? They look just like the flying coasters from Zamperla. I've been on a Zamperla Flying Volare, the one at Canada's Wonderland, and it was horrible! Very painful and bumpy, and overall, just not a very good ride. Concerns me if the Stingrays are anything like this, since both appear similar in concept, and we know Vekoma does not have a real good track record of making smooth coasters.

^ This video from TPR does a good job of showing what a Stingray is.
Reading the comments from those who took that China trip and rode it, I can firmly say it's nothing like a Zamperla Volare. The majority of people who commented on it, really enjoyed it. One even stated that while they're not a fan Vekoma's Flying Dutchman models, they thought the Stingray was so much better.
UPDATE - An' thanks to Mike and Chris's latest post, Silverwood's also getting a family ride. We've been sucker-punched with another unexpected ride addition! (Not that I mind in the slightest.)
At this point, unless we get hints I'm not gonna' speculate what the Family ride is. All I'm going to guess is it'll probably go in the large space near Garfield's Summer Camp since that's prime spot for a family ride.
