Scarywood nest! I like the logo. It's clearly a Jumping spider which is my youtube logo as well as my internet name. I guess I'll forgive the fact that Jumping Spiders don't really weave webs because they're the cuter looking of all the spiders.
I'm curious as to how this will fit with everything else. It doesn't quite sound like a huge scare zone or an attraction. I'm not quite sure what to expect other than traversing giant spiders and webs a bit more than the usual has been for the park.

The Scarywood Nest
There is only one way to get to the other side, and that is through this web-engulfed infestation. If you don't already suffer from arachnophobia, you will after walking through The Scarywood Nest.
Location: Country Carnival
Looks like we're getting more scare zones then we thought, I can imagine this being along the pathway towards Thunder Canyon. Either way it certainly seems like they're making sure the park is well spread and covered with attractions.
Next planned update is next week on the 27th, and I can imagine the other one marked as coming soon will be announced that day as well, or earlier. Though as a heads up, I'll be over at a convention next week, so there might not be a update from me.

So Coaster Alley adds in Vortex. I'm curious if this is the Vortex tunnel from Mindwarp/3Dementia maybe they push the speeds back up to the dizzyifying Mindwarp levels rather than the very mild 3Dementia levels. Probably works best were it's skipable, and it could be a fun break in some rather monotonous walkways.
I feel like this could break up part of the walk from Zambora's curse. I could be wrong but I feel like that pathway isn't quite prime for being filled with fog and borders on an area that is kept pretty brightly lit. As you edge away from Spin Cycle towards the coasters that'd probably be the best place for Crime Scene, plenty of dramatic places to lay the bodies out and dark corners to work with. Of course I could be totally wrong.

I'd also like to point out we have a date for the final reveal. October 3rd. The day before Scarywood opens.

An' the last attraction is...another scare zone to take over Roller Coaster Alley!
Scarecrow Corner
When walking through the stalks of corn, there might be something stalking you!
Location: Roller Coaster Alley
So thats it, all the attractions are layed out. Scarywood is going big with four mazes, two twisted rides, two photo ops, an' animatronic show, a sideshow, the Vortex tunnel and a whopping five scare zones.
It all starts tommorrow, and I seriously hope I can attend in November because this is certainly a great year to go.
Oh yes, one more thing. Looking on the events twitter, you'll want to go through 3-Dementia multiple times for there are TWO paths to take!

It's time for me to eat some crow.
Cryptic Statement 3: What's that smell? It smells like something died here. What ever it is, it's not human.
This clue refers to the 2005 version of the House of Wax. I was told there was going to be a wax museum attraction, but I was either misinformed or plans were changed. Hopefully I will be able to salvage some credibility if my last two clues turn out to be accurate.
Today is the media preview for Scarywood, so expect reports on the event in local newspapers and morning news shows tomorrow.

That is a TON of scare zones. I'm actually curious how the Scarecrow and Nest areas work as they almost sound like mini experiences as opposed to the general arena feeling of the clowns area. I really hope they've got enough actors for all this stuff.

Silverwood has hired a lot of scareactors this year and I think they might still be looking for more performers. Call 1 208 683 3400 and ask for John Jachim if you are interested.

I went this past weekend. Had a great time. I definitely think the park was much better this year - 2013 is officially my favorite Scarywood year so far. Here's my take on the attractions:
Blood Bayou: Still the most eloquently themed of the haunts, but I didn't really notice too many changes. There were a few new scenes, but mostly the same thing. I again wish they'd kept the people "flying" across the rafters. There was a TV screen out front in the line with a "reporter", but there was no sound on it, which kind of killed the effect, but I liked the concept.
Zombiewood Express: Mostly the same, but I liked the new animatronics, as well as the battle scene out by the mine. The zombies took the fight to the train cars a lot more this time, which I liked a lot - it was cool seeing the hunters battle the zombies right on board. Profanity has definitely increased again.
The Ancient Ruins (formerly Terror Canyon): WOW! Huge improvement here - this was very well themed. I loved all the effects and sets throughout the walk-through, and the costumes were very elaborate. It was set as an archeological expedition gone awry, so it had a lot of "Indiana Jones" feel to it. I really liked it!
3Dementia: This was the only thing that disappointed me this year. I thought it was a lot better last year. There are two paths through, but they are both mirror images of each other. Whereas last year it was a very long walk-through, this year it felt a lot shorter. Some of the 3D effects were new and improved, which was nice. But I thought it was too short. And some of the effects from last year that I really enjoyed were not there anymore (moving/twisting floor, ceiling dropping, bubble room, etc.) Still a good haunt, but nowhere near as good as 2012 IMO. I vote for the longer version, as opposed to two shorter paths.
Total Darkness: This one lives up to its name. It was basically a pitch black walk-through. Literally - pitch black. You had to feel the walls to know where to go next. As such, they had several things on the walls that you ended up touching (snakes, bugs, spiders, bats). Very effective. I wish it was a bit longer, and had a little more to it. But it was very different from everything else in the park, and I thought it was a great addition!
Zambora's Curse: Nice, short sideshow, with a cool optical illusion. I didn't like that the building was not enclosed, so you could hear everything while standing in line. But nicely done. Not the greatest thing at the park, but again, it was something different. And that's a good thing.
Other things I noticed:
-Security seemed incredibly beefed up this year. HUGE plus, as it really helped keep the crowds in check.
-Scare zones were nice to have throughout the park, but it felt like the rest of the park wasn't as well decorated as normal. Not as many spider webs around the buildings, etc.
-Tremors and Timber Terror both seemed to be running better than ever - rode both of them twice and had a great time!
-Only two things on the 16-square matrix that weren't operating were the Rolling Bones, and the Vortex tunnel. But we saw everything else.

Scarywood is just another sad attempt by corporate America to raid the pockets of the 99%! Because Silverwood is a corporate, penny pinching, scheming conglomerate full of poorly executed, cheesy hoaxes purely designed to move massive amounts of people through a large quantity of pay-as-you-go attractions. Even if you are a troll, that sentence is fun to say. Laughable, really.
