The next attraction has arrived, and I believe I know exactly what this is.
Zambora's Curse
Step right up ladies and gentleman! You won't believe your eyes! Come and see the amazing girl from the depths of the jungle whose curse will leave your jaw on the floor. Step right up and see something so bizarre, so unusual, and so scary it might just leave you running for the door.
Location: Old 3Dementia
The facebook page mentions this is a haunted sideshow, and I remember seeing a couple of these things back at the Nebraska State Fair when I was growing up. It's pretty much a classic sideshow show/effect, so it'll be interesting to see if they do it as is, or give it a update/twist.
An' with this announcement, some of the dates and placements got shuffeled and changed up again, so we're not getting a rapid-fire set of announcements. The next announcement will be on the 6th of September, with the ones after that being on the 13th, 20th and 27th. There's also one that's still marked as "Coming Soon, so that can pop up anytime, probably along with one of the scheduled updates.
Finally, it looks like tickets are availible. While the ticket page is a little wonky at the moment, here's what the online prices are looking like. All of them are $5 off the regular price.
Thursdays - $20.99 ($25.99 at Gate) Fridays - $25.99 ($30.99 at Gate) Saturdays - $34.99 ($39.99 at Gate)

The next update has finally been posted!
The Crypts
Do you ever get that feeling that someone is watching you? That uneasy feeling of what you once thought was dead is really alive. All eyes are on you as you walk through the grounds of The Crypts and the only thing you can hope for is that the dead really do rest in peace.
Location: Country Carnival
Judging by the description, this sounds to be a scarezone for Country Carnival. Quite fitting especially with the Apollo photo-op in the area.
We got four attractions to go, though they changed up the date of the next one to be announced. The next planned announcement won't be til the 18th.

Interesting. So there will now be a continuance of theming spreading from Clown Carnival all the way to the back of the park. Sounds good . I really have to wonder how they're going to keep the actors up for all of this. Even with mostly theming it should be pretty awesome though.

Looking at what the event has announced so far, I'm really excited for it. I've never seen a haunted event do a big expansion like this, no other event has added 11 new attractions for a year.
For the remaining four to be announced, I'm guessing....
- One more photo op - Another show or two, perhaps a opening or closing scaramonies a la' HHN Hollywood. - The rumored Spincycle with special effects - One more scare zone, probably in Coaster Alley since Oddities is no more. Rather ironic though since Zambora's Curse is a sideshow attraction that would've fit right in with Oddities.
So far, the event looks nicely balanced with everything spread out amongst the park, so that can help with crowds. I'm certainly going to try and attend, even though my only window is Nov. 1st & 2nd.

An overlayed attraction of some sort does seem like it could be in the cards. Though I'm not sure what special effects could be added to Spincycle.
I agree on the Oddities replacement though this area will probably always be the last scary most bright area. The dancing zone seemed to make the most sense and i'm kinda curious of Zambora's curse ends up aborbing much of the sideshows or what. Maybe the dance zone will return in some form?

Today's update reveals the scare zone replacing Oddities, and it's no dance party.
Crime Scene
Something or someone has been committing heinous crimes and displaying them for all to see. Strung up in body bags, the victims don't have a scream to warn innocent spectators of what is lurking behind them. Whatever you do, don't cross the yellow tape or you might be a part of the next crime scene.
Location: Roller Coaster Alley
Something to consider, the logo for this scare zone has someone wielding a chainsaw. Rather appropriate for that section of the park. The next update is in a couple days on the 20th.

I'm actually curious what this one will entail. Coaster Alley is quite a large area and I could see this being some great theming in the areas around Tremors and Timber Terror. Oddities started pretty much were Spincycle is now and ended just before 3Dementia. That area is pretty brightly lit which makes me wonder how Crime Scene or any scarier scare zone would function. But I guess I won't know till I go to the park.
I'll be very curious to see how all these scare zones lay out as some of them may or may not be more scenery oriented than others. It REALLY sounds like the park will be filled to the brim with scares this year and not have a single unthemed area which is great as in the past coaster alley and a few other zones are pretty empty of any scares or theme.

I think Crime Scene will feature the burlap body bags featured in Terror Trail in the past years, as well as fog, chalk outlines, psychotic murders and Silverwood's version of a Chainsaw Drill Team. It also wouldn't surprise me if Silverwood used a lot of police strobe lights in this area.

It is now time for me to Decrypt some of the comments I made here months ago.
Cryptic Statement 1: Something Twisted is working on their Toybox
This was an easy clue that refers to Twisted Toybox, a company that has been the design team for Scarywood since 2011.
Cryptic Statement 2: They're dead...they're all messed up
This was a messed up clue, so I'm offering a new one. Cryptic Statement 2 is now Scooby Deux.
Cryptic Statement 3: What's that smell? It smells like something died here. What ever it is, it's not human
I really hope this concept is still on course because I would love to see Silverwood's take on this idea. TBD.
Cryptic Statement 4: Picture This!
This clue was for the photo op areas of Apollo, the Crypts, and Ghouls Gone Wild. Scarywood will have an area with evil human statues? I'm there! I am also predicting this area will play a big part in the social media game Silverwood is rumored to be planning. To be honest, I only knew the name of the Apollo attraction.
Cryptic Statement 5: A different point of view Cryptic Statement 6: Your welcome and good-bye
I will not be able to confirm the accuracy of these two clues until the event has began.

Oh I figured those features and maybe some fake corpses strung up in dramatic fashion on the side of a coaster and maybe some other dramatically placed murder victims. I'm just not imagining heavy fog were Oddities used to be. With Spincycle/skydiver and the drop ride. I can't imagine that area to ever be very darkly lit or shrouded which really limits options for haunts. I should probably get around to posting my oddities walkthrough from last year to show how bright that area was.
