I've been told that Silverwood is planning on an epic 2013 Scarywood and that they are experimenting with some ideas this year for that event. I think that might explain some of the new themed scarezones.

5th anniversary would be the time to jazz up a few things so it'd make sense. It seems like each year should be doing something new Maybe they could have a key character motif sometime I think that'd be pretty awesome to do. but I think I'll ponder 2013 after I see 2012

The site did another little update, they gave 3-Dementia a logo and they mention that the Oddities scare zone will be in Coaster Alley. An' thinking about it, Oddities will probably have a Freak Show theme.

its like they're reading my skepticisum! thats the exact clarification I wanted. I think I've managed to find a way to visit again regardless of how things turn out this year so I'm happy Sounds like there should be plenty new then with 3Dementia and the new scare zone. Hopefully everything else is tweak just enough or more so that the event can stay really fresh. With the New scare zone I think the park will be dressed up in pretty much every corner which is great. It'll make the event feel that much more complete. Maybe I'll do that much more recording for my youtubes! lol I really regret not recording the first year now. I wish I could have a video documentary of how much the event changes between years.

Question: one of the things a "judge" at the audition said was, this job isn't fun. It's hard. What would you say are the "cons" and what would you say was fun about it?

I think she was trying to weed out the possible slackers with that statement. Scarywood is a fun job, but the performers have the obligation to respect the position by working hard and treating it with the same standards of any other employment opportunity.
Pros: It's a fun job, you will meet new people, you get to exercise your creativity.
Cons: The nights can get cold and you might have to endure the elements, the crowds can be large or small which have their respective challenges, you might even be attacked by a guest.
The best advice I can give to a performer is to eat a good meal before the event, keep well hydrated, bring cough drops, communicate with the other scareactors and Scarywood staff, have a good sense of situational awareness, and enjoy your time performing at Scarywood.

While I don't work at Scarywood, I work at a outdoor haunt so I can certainly weight in on this.
As what Monkeybeast said, that comment is certainly there to weed out the slackers...but truth be told it can be a hard job. A lot a people don't take in the cons of this job.
Cons- If you're outdoors, you gotta' endure the elements. On good days your body can be sore all over, and have various "mystery bruises" that you don't know about til later. You're probably going to encounter every kind of Jerk/@$$hole and annoying as all heck teen.
Not to mention all the touchy/feely/punchy people. Myself I've been smacked in the chest and face several times, though that was accidental due to the "Fight or Flight" reaction everyone has. When adrenline kicks in, some people scream and run, others throw their hand out/freeze. Most of the time people quickly apologize when that happens.
Pros- Even with the cons, it's still a fun as heck job. Scaring people gives you quite a rush, and it's always satisfying/funny seeing the reactions.
Eat well, stay plenty hydrated and stock up on cough drops. Throughout a night I usually have a cough drop in my cheeks to keep my voice. Also, project your voice. Just flat out screaming is a easy way to lose your voice fast.
Also, always stretch beforehand! You don't want to risk pulling a muscle during the run, and those can be common injuries.
