My family and I are taking a short 2 day trip over Labor Day. We plan on hitting Enchanted Village on Sunday. Heading north into Vancouver BC to hit Playland at the PNE. We have never been to Playland and I have heard there wooden coaster is top notch, especially for its age. We also plan on making a quick stop at the Space Needle to ride there coaster either on the way up or the way back, whichever works out the best.
I will post a TR when we get back. Also, on the off chance that anyone may be in that area too, let me know and we'll see if we can't have a meet and greet of some kind.
Justin.

Finished my PTR over at Coasterfanatics.com. Check it out here. Just a few comments. Timberhawk really looks like it should be good but it is just OK. It wasn't even as good as I remembered it being. But, they were however, running TWO TRAINS!!!!!!!!!. This is my biggest complaint with Silverwood. Timberhawk is smaller than even Timber Terror and they have efficient two train operations and it is a Six Flags park. Imagine if Silverwoods coasters had two trains with efficient ops. It would cut the lines in half. Playland coaster. This thing was awesome (and was also running two trains). You think Timber Terror has air time? The air time on this baby is insane. Not floater air like TT but ejector air. Overall Playland was great and we could have spent a lot more time there. Coaster (that is its name) is probably somewhere between 3rd and 5th on my woodie list. After Ghost Rider and Tremors it is hard for me to decide between Coaster, Roar, TT, and Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Playland also had a nice selection of flats. A disco and a Top Spin along with a ton of your standard carnival flats. They also had an S&S tower and a log flume. A Vekoma Coarkscrew and an old school wild mouse. If you get a chance I highly recommend Playland. So go check my PTR. I posted about 80 pictures total!!!

Great TR...your photos of Wild Waves prove my point exactly about the ridiculous crowds there...ugh!!! I remember how terrible they were on the day I went several years ago. But hey, what can you expect when it's the only water park in the whole Seattle-Tacoma area?

^ Not only that, but it really is the best water park in the whole NW IMO. They just have so many more slides than Silverwood. I would say it is easily 3 time as big as Boulder Beach. It isn't nearly as nice in terms of landscaping and cleanliness but there's just so much more there. In anther 5 years maybe after Silverwood has a little more time to build there water park up some more then I will probably give the edge to Silverwood, but not yet.
As far as the crowds it was a Sunday on Labor Day weekend. We new going in it would get really crowded in the water park so we did it first and really had pretty decient lines. In fact they were better than the lines we had at Boulder Beach in July. We finished up at the water park at about noon and spent the rest of the day in the ride section. The lines did look like they got pretty insane later in the day though.

You know skylark thinking back (it's been about 3 years) since the last time I went to Wild Waves, and looking at the pics from your TR, I agree with you. Boulder Beach is a much nicer park, but Wild Waves has a lot more to do. I really enjoyed their Konga river tube slides and thought their lazy river was much faster and more exciting. I think their new family tube slide looks great too.
I also liked their drop off slides - the short little tunnel slides that shoot you out over the water...those are fun.
Unfortunately I think it will be quite some time before Boulder Beach has that type of selection of slides. Time will tell.

^ Yeah Bud, I kind of neglected to mention the new family raft slide. It was very fun. Four people can fit into one raft (really just a 4 person tube) and it has some nice corners and drops in it. Deffinately unique to the entire Northwest.
You really knid of hit the nail on the head too saying Boulder Beach is nicer. It really is nicer and just more pleasant but not nearly as much to do.
They also have there tube ride, not the Konga River tube slides, but a tube ride where you start out in a pool then go down a water fall into another pool and so on. There are probably about seven pools in all and it is a pretty fun attraction.

^The tube slide you mentioned was the thing I remember most about Wild Waves. That was probably the funnest tube slide I've ever been on. I loved how you could stop at each pool and play around for as long as you wanted and how there were all those waterfalls and such. That was such a fun slide. That slide as well as the drop off slides were my two favorite things there.
I'm about to move to the Seattle area here this week, and I'm definitely going to head to that park next summer to ride all the new slides and rides that have been put in since I went that one time so many years ago. It's been over 9 years now since I went there! Time flies....
