The SIP will be home to one last ice show before it is turned into a storage facility mainly housing props for Scarywood. The palace will also continue to have a haunt in it for Scarywood serving as one of the main attractions.
Fear not ice show fans, there are plans being discussed of building a new ice palace that will be more friendly for the guests and the performers.

Source?
If true, I hope they do keep the show and build a new ice palace. This is a great show - world-class indeed - and needs to stay at the park. A more prominent location would be good however, as the current location is so "out of the way" of the rest of the theme park that it is often an afterthought.

I'll second that I hope they do build a new ice palace, I've always enjoyed the ice shows...that and it's something that helps thin out crowds now and then.
As for Monkeybeast having a scource on it, I'm guessing he works at the park and/or knows someone that does. A change like this would certainly be something the park would tell it's employees.

I am hearing there will be no ice show this year. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I am not a current employee of Silverwood and any reports I make on here including the ice palace and the new train show come from me being in the themed-entertainment industry for eleven years. I did work for Silverwood in entertainment 99-01 and have worked both Scarywood events, but other than that I have no relationship with them. I have had the great opportunity to work in an industry that I LOVE and I've made a few contacts here and there. That being said here is the following changes that are going to happen to Silverwood entertainment this season or in the very near future:
The train ride show has been revamped and the ice palace will be closed next year if not this year. I was informed of the closure of the ice palace last September , but I didn't mention it here because it was unclear if the ice show would return this year or not. I think some announcement of the current SIP closing and the plan of building another will come just before the 2011 season begins.

The Ice Palace and the Magic Show are a couple of the things I hope Silverwood never loses. They are both unique and provide quality entertainment. Getting rid of either of these would be a huge mistake. Look no further than what has happened to Knott's over the past 10-15 years for proof...

One thing I have never seen is the Ice Show. Sounds like it is quite popular.

^Both the magic show and ice show are great. I've only seen the ice show twice, but both times it has been really impressive. Especially because the inside of the ice palace looks so...simple. You walk in there and look at it and think "this is going to be an average show at best", but then you are blow away with how professional it is! The performers are always top notch, and they always have stuff that both adults and kids can enjoy, so I'd highly recommend it.
I think a new ice palace would definitely be a good idea, because the current one is pretty crummy on the inside, IMO.

Well the 2011 season has officially begun, and so far it looks like there won't be a Ice Show this year.
The website was updated and the Ice Show is noticably absent from the list, however there is Nick Norton's "Mysterium", Piano Dan at the High Moon Saloon and the "Adventure aboard the Silverwood Central Railroad".
