I definitely think they need to do something new for next year, even if it is small. Sure, the Scarywood addition has occurred over the past two years, but they even admit that they are targeting a completely different audience with that compared to the rest of the year. So, if they focus on only Scarywood again next year, they yet again leave the rest of their customers with nothing new for a third straight season in a row, and that is not going to be a good thing.
I like the ideas suggested so far, such as a small coaster, expansion of the kids area, or a big flat ride. I think for coasters, a spinner or a Booster Bike ride (ala Pony Express at Knott's) would be a perfect addition. Cheap, unique (especially for the area), and something just about anyone can ride.
Even an addition to the water park would be welcome. Crowds this year were insane, and they have to do something to try and thin that out. I think it's great they did so well this year with attendance, but they now need to do something with all that revenue!
And I'll also agree that this is not the time to be replacing rides...they need to be adding, not taking away from the selections at the park.

I really don't know why removing part or all of the airstrip is supposedly such a difficult thing to do? There is nothing difficult about carving out a section of the airstrip for a new ride. If anything, this land is easier to develop because it does not require clearing trees, leveing the ground, or removing other foliage.

Nostalgia I'm betting, the airstrip has been a part of the park since inception even if it hasn't really been used in years (to my knowledge) Seems to me the best place to start branching off is near Thunder Canyon, hope whatever they do they think out layout ahead of time but that might be a bit much to ask haha. Really can't wait to see what the next thing they do is.

^I agree. I don't think it's so much that it would be a 'hard' thing to do, but rather, getting rid of it might just be a tough pill for them to swallow since it's always been there, and the owner might not want to make that change just yet.

Well if there's one thing for certain, when the park does add something new to Boulder Beach...they'll be able to put it in without taking a attraction out.
Also, this week could be very interesting. With the IAAPA expo opening the trade show floor today, and the crew of SW being there right now...there is a chance we might be getting a hint or two of things to come.

Speak of the freakin' devil, the trade show of IAAPA is open and thanks to TPR we already got a hint of what's happening in 2011. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57455&start=10Just scroll all the way down, and you'll see the hint. Plain and simple, TPR stopped at the Rocky Mountain Coasters booth. RMC is currently doing the Texas Giant transformation, and apparently they'll be replacing 2000 feet of wood coaster track at Silverwood with their Topper Track. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. This isn't the first time RMC has been involved with SW, they were the company that built Timber Terror, Tremors, Aftershock and pretty much everything at Boulder Beach. UPDATE- I took a look at RMC's site, and it looks like Tremors will be getting the new Topper Track. www.rockymtnconstruction.com/images/topper10.jpgIt won't be like the serious modification the Texas Giant is getting with the layout changed, but the top sections of the track is getting a full blown steel track to help make for a smoother ride.

Wow. GREAT news. Tremors was getting a bit too rough for my taste. This should help quite a bit I would guess.
Wonder if they'll throw a second train on there while they're at it?...

^That will be great! Tremors was really becoming too rough to enjoy these past couple years. It looks like they actually already installed it on one part of the coaster if you watch the video on their site: www.rockymtnconstruction.com/ttdemo.htmlInteresting concept - I think it will be a welcome improvement. Hopefully, though, this isn't the only thing they do for next year.

Wish they'd upgrade it to a two train operation while they were at it . Would make for more convenient trips haha. I will also second the hope that this isn't all they do, if they could add a new flat ride or some sort of water park tweak with this I think it'd be optimal. I guess they COULD do a re-marketing of Temors but it'd only make since if they did two trains

Got another little IAAPA update, while so far there's no other news on any new additition to the park. On SW's facebook they mentioned the Ice Show won best sports show for the 2nd year in a row.
As for Tremors getting the Topper Track treatment, I'll certainly agree this is very well needed. When I rode it last year in 09' I felt it was getting too rough, a smoother Tremors would be appreciated.
In other IAAPA news, I'm seeing various pics and videos from the Sally Corperation's booth (aka the dark ride company that SW would probably go to for a interactive dark ride.) OOOOOOOOOooooo.....they are showing off plenty of things I wouldn't mind seeing at the SW. The new "Scream in the Dark" ride looks very interesting and downright creepy.
