Another little update, it seems like SW is starting on construction for the swamp attraction. Over on TPR in a recent TR someone posted a pic of a sign in the ice palace that says "Please Pardon Our Dust As We Prepare For An Exciting New Addition To Silverwood." Naturally, the Scarywood logo is right under the phrase.
Smart move, especially if they're going to use the whole building. Better to get started now on certain sections, so they don't have a huge time crunch after labor day when they can get to work on the whole area.

If anybody is interested in being apart of Scarywood I have discovered that the auditions will be August 29th and 30th. They will be casting for scare zones, the newly named Zombiewood Express, Terror Canyon Trail and the unnamed indoor swamp attraction. I was a scareactor for the first Scarywood and I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to try out. John Jachim is the DOE at Silverwood Theme Park and you can e-mail him at johnj@silverwoodthemepark.com or call 1 208 683 3400 and ask to be transfered to John Jachim.

I would love to be a part of it but with my family obligations there is no way I could commit to being there every night that it is open. What a fun opportunity! I will be attending it as a guest though!

Only a couple of days until the auditions, I hope some of you try out.
I hope Silverwood management will decide to build up the event by having some scareactors placing black wreaths next to some of the more popular rides. I would also love to see some monster disrupt the train robbers' robbery this September as another way of building up Scarywood. I would expect signs of the Darkness that is about to take over Silverwood to rise from the grave very soon.

Finally, the website is live! www.scarywoodhauntednights.com/Here's what the site says of it's line up. ? "A NEW, as yet, unnnamed forest-themed haunted attraction - Unlike anything the Northwest has ever seen - is under construction in the museum building which lies just north of Main Street. You'll be scared with every twist and turn of this diabolical scream machine of a haunt!" Terror Canyon Trail "The Thunder Canyon raft ride will again be drained and converted into Terror Canyon Trail where you will be stalked by creatures from your worst nightmares." Zombiewood Express "Mild-mannered Steam Engine No. 7 will transform into a fortified zombie hunting machine that will take you on a action packed battle that only the fearless will survive." Now right under all this info is this comment. "...and beware of other haunts and scares around every corner of the park. You may think you're safe...but they will be there when you least expect it!" Ok then, strangely enough they still don't have a name for the maze in the Ice Palace. Though I do like the logos for Terror Canyon and especially Zombiewood Express. I'm also fine with there being no "offical" scare zones, when people really don't know where the monsters are going to be in the park...that does make things more exciting. Oh yes, so far the dates and times remain the same. Every Friday and Saturday in Oct. from 6PM to midnight, and every Thursday and the 27th. (Wed.) from 6PM to 10PM. Admission is $24.99. UPDATE- I just took a look at the online ticket area and spotted two things. 1. If you buy online, then when you present your e-ticket to the gate you'll recieve a coupon for 1 free admission for May of 2011. 2. It looks like the access to the Haunted attractions are unlimited, no more "one time through and that's it". (Take that, Wild Waves.)

I think this is going to be pretty cool this year. I think it's interesting that they have re-named the train ride - makes me wonder if they have made some changes from last year to make it less silly. Here's hoping! It's also interesting because the recording on the regular train during the summer makes reference to the "MidFright Express", so it seems this was more a recent change.
I also noticed that there is no mention of a Halloween Magic Show like they did last year? I wonder if they decided not to do that for some reason, or if they just forgot to put it on the site?

^ Well since the park is consulting Gore Galore for the haunt, I'd certainly say they're changing things up. It should also be interesting to see if there's any changes, new additions to Terror Canyon.
Now last year the park didn't announce a Halloween magic show till about mid-September, so there's still a very good chance Nick will be doing one again. After all, they will have to eventually update the site to reveal the name of the new maze.

I think the train storyline has been changed that's the reason for the name change. I think this attraction will be much more interactive if I understood the description.
Terror Canyon might have a storyline this year but I think there will be no major changes other then some scareactor/scene changes and a better way of handling the entrance at the start of the maze.
Scarywood did not divide their scarezones into themes last year and I don't think they will this year either. I do believe they will have a more diverse scareactor population (not just zombies) and I would expect them to be all through out the park in areas you would never suspect.

I just got back from Silverwood and I have learned the following things:
Nick Norton WILL return for Scarywood with his show "Nightmare"
Kevin, the founder of Gore Galore, and his entire staff are high quality entertainers and people.
Scarywood begins soon and I'm very excited for it.
