I'm kind of surprised they don't do this already and not sure why. These are hugely popular events at most theme parks.
Do you think they should do this? What would the general public response be? Would you go? Certainly weather can't be the factor as there are many theme parks in cold locations that do Halloween weekends of some kind.
I would think they could really have some fun with the log flume, the train, main street, maybe a walk through in the ice skating building or the magic show building, etc.

I would love it. I build Halloween props for my house all the time. Some of them are pneumatic and scare the heck out of the "cool" teenagers. Good fun.
I would definitely go. In fact I would sign up to help out!

If I recall, Nancy said in a interview that was on this site that while they have been thinking of seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas...there going to wait until the Hotel is built before they really start thinking about them.
I would love for Silverwood to a Halloween event, in my opinion Halloween is the best seasonal event for any theme park.
For me, while I think the magic show building is too small...what I've been saying for a while is the Ice Palace is prime location for a maze. If they theme up the log flume, I see them mainly using animatronics since there's really not much room for actors.
Since Boulder Beach is not operating at that time, they could possibly build another maze in that area.
The pinic area looks pretty big, but I don't know if that would be available since it was really packed anytime I go to the park.
I will say, they can do some pretty cool stuff with the train. (Especially with the cabin in the middle of the woods.)
But overall, I would certainly go if they held a Halloween event...and just like Voodoobones, I would sign up to help out as well.

I've only been to one halloween event at a theme park and that was Knott's Halloween Haunt a couple years back on my honeymoon. I loved it, and I'd totally do it again if I were in the area in October. Should Silverwood do one? Definitely - though I think the more appropriate question is - would enough people come to justify the crowds? I think they're wise to wait until they have a hotel before trying to do a halloween event. Until then, the location just seems too remote for it to make much sense. I think there are tons of great possibilities though, as have been mentioned. The train would just be awesome, along with the log flume. Oh and by the way - happy birthday wolfblood!!

Seeing how silverwood is open this year on halloween its very likey. They might have something halloween themed to Garfield or do something like a sixflags park.

^Welcome to the boards, Silverwoodfan2010!
That's a very interesting observation...I'd been wondering why Silverwood all of a sudden extended their season an extra month this year. Especially since last year they shortened the season a couple weeks and closed down at the end of September (normally they'd stayed open a few weekends in October).
Not sure why it hadn't occurred to me that a Halloween event could be the reason...it makes perfect sense. I hope you're right - and if so I think it will be very interesting to see what they do with it. Though, it's going to be awfully chilly up there in late October...

All of these other parks wouldn't be doing it if it didn't bring in a extra revenue. I'd say it will be a hit even in cold temps if Silverwood does go with one this year. Heck, Dollywood stays open through December in below freezing temps and usually runs their coasters even in the high thirties. I'd love to get a ride on the woodies at 38 degrees. Tremors and TT were absolutely screaming during the last CAC and it was about 48 degrees. I can't imagine the ride you'd get at around 37 or 38.

^Very true. Those coasters were definitely running well at CAC 2005. But I was so cold on that day as well! I could only take so much, but it was fun. In any event, I'll definitely plan to go if they do end up trying it out this year.

Wow I'm excited to hear about this. I think it would be a GREAT idea. I'm hoping they add at least one walk-through maze.
Silverwood is/has been making very good decisions these past few years. A Halloween event would definitely bring me back to the park in October, despite the weather.

Hmmm, now while Nancy did say they wouldn't be thinking about Halloween events until the Hotel. I have to say it might just happen this year, to be quite honest I've never seen the park open for all the weekends in October.
Part of me is saying it's open due to the increase of crowds, but another part of me is thinking it's going to be open for all those weekends for a Halloween event. (Especially since this is a good time to test the waters.)
If that's the case, well then I have no problem with it since it doesn't take me that long to go from Everett to Silverwood. Now I did notice Screamscape is saying it may take the family friendly route due to the operating hours being from 11am to 6pm. From what I've learned with many parks that do a Halloween event, the main site only posts the regular operating hours for the park. If the Halloween event is a seperate ticket event, then the times for that will be posted eslewhere. (Not to mention, most parks that do an nightly Halloween event close at around 5, 6 pm to get ready for the event.)
