Seems we've started several movie threads over the last year, so I thought I'd start a general thread so we could keep them all in one place.
Unlike Bud Parsley and Skinnyguy, I didn't care much for the new Indy movie. However, it did get me thinking about over the top action movies I did like. Most recently, "Iron Man". The CG was very well done, and while it certainly had its share of over the top scenes, I thought they did a great job of making it as believable as they could. Great movie, IMO.
Another one that has been out a while that I just recently watched on DVD was "I Am Legend". I thought Will Smith was incredible in that movie. My only complaint with this one was that, like Indy 4, the CG was pretty bad. Plus, with how great you can make zombies look just by having a good make up artist, I'm not sure why they went the way they did. Still a very good movie overall.
I'm looking forward to the new Narnia movie, too. Haven't seen it yet, but I've been hearing pretty good things about it so far and I really enjoyed the first one.

^I really enjoyed Iron Man, though I thought the previews for that show looked VERY stupid. I was expecting "just another super-hero" movie, but I did like it a lot. Great special effects, etc.
Never saw I Am Legend though I thought it looked good. I might have to rent it sometime.
Never saw the first Narnia either, but I'd really like to. Just haven't gotten around to it, but I will soon enough.
As for what's left for the summer - I'm VERY excited for Dark Knight. I loved Batman Begins, and I think Dark Knight looks pretty sweet. I think it will draw a huge crowd since it's basically Heath Ledger's last big movie. I'm also really excited for Wall-E.

Yeah, I'm exited for Dark Knight, too. I thought Batman Begins was the best of all the Batman movies. I am also very excited for the new X Files movie. I'm a big X Files fan and the last movie was great. With the original actors and Chris Carter directing, I'm cautiously optimistic.

Nice idea, this thread.
I have only seen Indy so far. And you guys know what I thought of it.
I want to see Iron Man badly, especially with all the positive stuff I've heard about it. This will be my next in-theater movie.
Narnia interests me, but not enough to go to the theater. I rented the first one and liked it, but didn't LOVE it. So this second one is a rental for me by default. Even though some say it is better than #1.
I am very excited for Batman, Wall-E, and Hancock. Probably will go see all three if they get decent reviews. And I'm also thinking Kung Fu Panda just because I'm a HUGE Jack Black fan. But again, only if it gets good reviews.
X-Files is interesting to me. I was a huge fan of the TV series up until the last couple seasons. And I loved the first movie. But I'm not sure I care so much about it now. We'll see.

I finally saw the first Narnia film this past weekend - I really enjoyed it! I didn't necessarily think it was the greatest movie ever, but I was impressed. Definitely an all around good movie. I'm very tempted to go see the new one this weekend - especially since I keep getting free movie tickets from Safeway! Already saw Indy for free - planning to go see Narnia soon and then pick up a couple more free tickets when we go grocery shopping again this weekend and save those for Dark Knight or Wall-E!

For the record, I went and saw Indy for a second time today. I liked it even more this time. I think I can say with a bit more confidence that I would put it in the same class as the others in the series. Very fun movie.

Indy 4 is decent, it's no Raiders though. Ironman was pretty cool. I just saw Zohan and it's OK eventhough the previews make it look way better than it is. Looking forward to The Dark Knight.

^ I've heard good things about that one.
I saw The Happening last Friday. Unfortunately I was pretty dissapointed. The plot was very weak, overall. It did have some good scenes but it came up short in delivering a good overall experience.

I saw Prince Caspian last weekend and I enjoyed it. It was much more serious and "dark" than the first and had a lot more action and battle scenes. Overall I thought it was a more well-done movie than the first, but I thought the story/plot of the first one was better. But taken as a whole, this one had improved special effects, and the movie didn't feel as "rushed" as the first one did. Definitely a good movie that I'd recommend.
