We'll I'm going in October for sure. I think we'll do SFMM on Sunday and see how the crowds are. I really hope to have a better experience than my last 2 visits and if the trip reports I've read hold true, it should be fun. - Barry

So, Theme Park Review just posted another SFMM update and things are still looking positive. Go check it out if you want to see the whole thing but I just thought I would post this interesting little rumor floating around. X2 now has a new (and totally awesome looking!) promotional picture posted to SFMM's web site. Along with the picture and other random hints by people in the know it is looking like X2 may re-open with fire effects! No tunnels, however, but I think some fire effects, along with the totally awesome new paint and a smoother ride could push X into a contender for any enthusiasts top ten list. Check the new logo and see what you think............

I think that new logo is pretty sweet looking! I hope all of these refurbishments help make the ride better - I honestly was quite let down by it when I first went on X. The park's website has a video of X2 that you can watch - nothing really new in the video, but it's getting me very excited to go back to this park sometime! www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/rides/X2transformation.aspx

I'm bummed out that they decided not to add the tunnels. But when I think about it, with all the multi-directional flips and moves that X performs, I'm not sure you'd really be able to comprehend what was happening anyway.
Not a huge fan of X. And it wasn't because I found it "rough". It just tries to do too many things and feels too much like a carnival ride to me and not really like a coaster.
