Hey everyone! I have been lurking on here and posting as a guest for a while, but decided to register. This seems like a nice little message board you have here. Anyway, my question: It seems like ride cycles for Spin Cycle vary slightly- why might this be? I have not been there since it arrived to ride it, but watching videos I have seen variation from 2-4 full-speed revolutions before it starts to ramp down. For example: Looks like 2 full revolutions during POV Looks like 5 full revolutions? Are there certain times of day they run longer cycles on this ride? Does it depend on how busy it is? Or have they changed the ride cycle in the last couple of years? I'm really looking forward to this ride but would much rather have a little longer cycle since it takes so many swings to get up to full speed Are there any other rides that have variable cycles? The main thing that got me thinking about this is the last catch car on Aftershock before the train is lowered to the station- I wondered, could they just raise you up again and do a double cycle?

When I was there for 2 days last week, I rode SpinCycle several times each day. It was always doing 5 full revolutions. I'm sure that the park decides how long the cycle should be. And yes, they could probably send Aftershock around a second time if they wanted to, but I don't think that would ever really happen.

SpinCycle runs for 3 minutes (or less if we stop it early) every time. The variation comes from things like weather, wind, and weight. The ride uses its own momentum to spin completely over and if for whatever reason it takes longer to get over the top then it makes less revolutions before it has to start slowing itself down.
We used to do two cycles on corkscrew, but the reason we stopped is there's potential for people to hurt themselves on the ride or get sick and not know until they stand up on their own. Aftershock is intense enough that for some people multiple trips without leaving their seat and taking a break could be very bad.

Wow, I am probably underestimating how awesome this ride is. I have heard it's pretty intense and I have never actually been on any boomerang, so maybe you're right Thanks a lot for the info about Spin Cycle, I didn't realize it was on a timer and not a set program. Is the rotation of the car (where the people sit, don't know the technical term) also on a timer?

Thanks a lot for the info about Spin Cycle, I didn't realize it was on a timer and not a set program. Is the rotation of the car (where the people sit, don't know the technical term) also on a timer? Kinda. The seats spin roughly an equal amount of time, but it also almost always stops spinning and changes direction in sync with the column as it reaches a certain point.

This is what I wish SpinCycle did...
