Always nice to see new family rides going in. This will give Silverwood a very nice overall kids section it has always lacked.

This definitely looks like a nice expansion for GSC, and I find it interesting that they announced the balloon ride even though that's not going in until 2015. But then again, 2015 will also have the teased development that'll add a 1/2 or 1/3 to the park size...which would certainly take up the spotlight.
Either way, this is a nice expansion that'll give a much needed boost to the family/kiddie ride selection.

Looking at the parks facebook, it looks like the new expansion is coming along nicely. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152385905463674&set=pb.21909073673.-2207520000.1397530577.&type=3&theaterIn the pic you can see where the "Krazy Koaster" and the Puppy-Go-Round will be located. (On facebook they type it "Crazy Koaster", but on the main website it's "Krazy Koaster". Also, they're putting a set of bathrooms in the area as well. An' due to the bathroom's placement, they say it'll be accessible from both inside the expansion as well as the front gate area.

Yes! There is a new bathroom, that is double sided. Which means that there is a bathroom accessible to guests, even if you don't have a ticket yet.
And, there is now going to be a second location for Spiral Spuds in the dry park! I don't know where though.
And I will say that theres been a lot of improvements to the walkways that look awesome.

So I was at the park for Family and Friends day today. Some thoughts: Timber Terror had some track work especially at the bottom of the bunny hills, and it is the smoothest it's been in a while. And it's awesome, especially if you last ride t in Scarywood.
Both coaster trains look amazing as well, with all new side panels thanks to the incredible coaster maintenance crew.
The new bricks in Main Street and by the new kids expansion look great, as does a new floor in country BBQ.
The new expansion still has quite a bit of work to be done, but the new bathroom is almost finished on the outside and looks really nice. There weren't any rides (parts) visible in the new area.
Battle zone is most definitely gone. It has currently been replaced with a small grassy area that actually looks pretty nice. The building where you paid is still there though. And a lot more leafy (well, leafy at some point hopefully soon) have been planted between the park and the employee parking lot.
Obviously operations were pretty slow. But that's the purpose of today and things are looking good for the coming weeks.
I didn't ride the train, and they didn't do the magic show. The arcade has some new games. The Coaster Alley Deli now sells spiral spuds.

So my eyes certainly wern't fooling me on the webcam, Battlezone really is gone.
Looking around twitter and facebook, the Gazebo in the courtyard is finished and the train show has a water tower for a new stunt. The park officially opens today, so here's to another fun season and hopefully seeing construction later on for whatever's to come next year!

Visited the park with our kids over Father's Day Weekend. The weather wasn't great, but the park was in great shape. The new kids area is terrific. No kids have their own dedicated space and there is room to add more rides over the years. Even thought the new coaster is just a very small figure eight, it's still a lot of fun for little kids and much improved over Tiny Toot.
Only negative is Tremors. That coaster is turning to crap except where the new "topper track" was installed. It really is a testament to RMC and what they can do for old beat up wood coasters. I was literally about to cry out from pain until we got to the far turn around where the topper tack is and then it was sudden relief. I know it's easy for me to say because it isn't my money, but if they were to finish topping the rest of that track, it could once again be a tip 20 woodie, IMO. Timber Terror on the other hand was great. As smooth as it has been in years.
Loved Nick Norton's show as usual and had a nice lunch at Lindy's as usual. Overall a nice trip and a fun day even with the not so great weather.

It's just not fun to me. Sadly I think we're a few years away from more topper track for it.

While things have been a little quiet, I think we'll be entering a fairly exciting period of the Summer very soon. If whatever Gary Norton hinted at is still on track to open 2015, there might be signs of construction popping up sometime next month.
Also, this is around the time where hints and announcements for Scarywood start rising up. Last year on July 20th they had the website up with all the covered attraction grid squares with three attractions revealed as returning. At the moment, the website has undergone some changes. No attractions yet, but the new site let's you look at the list of attractions from last year. As well as a nifty behind the scenes video of last year which they just uploaded a couple days ago.
