So finally we know Silverwood's big secret for 2013: First, they are getting a giant frisbee style ride. Not sure who the manufacturer is, but obviously not Huss, since they are claminig it is the first of its kind in the US. (so obviously the first of it's kind TECHNICALLY, but come on, there are lots of frisbees and a handfull of giant frisbees out there too.) Second, they are adding Barnstormer, a "biplane-themed family ride seating 20, including adults." Not sure what exactly that ride is going to be at this point. Here are my thoughts....and you can be sure I will add more once we have further details. I'm glad to see a new-style flat ride coming to the park. I've been saying for years that a giant frisbee style ride would be the PERFECT addition, and I stand by that. Great choice, and a well needed-addition. Though I am going to challenge the park's marketing here: Frisbees are not known for being nausea-inducing rides...they look the part, but in reality, they are far from it. As far as the Barnstormer is concerned, I guess we'll know more as time goes on. Not too sure the details of that one yet. But glad to hear they are beefing up Garfield's Summer Camp...that place SORELY needs it. Also happy to hear that the ride is for BOTH parents and kids to ride together. Silverwood needs more attractions that the entire family can enjoy together. Overall, I'd say these will be great additions to the park, further rounding out the experience. Now, if only they would move forward with a dark ride....... www.spokesman.com/stories/2013/jan/22/new-thrill-ride-set-open-silverwood/

It seems we now have some additional facts on the rides:
The unnamed frisbee-style attraction is made by VISA International - haven't heard of them before. The ride will be 104 feet tall, which clearly does NOT make this the largest frisbee-style ride in the world or even in the US. So I guess their claim that this is the largest of its type could be true if you were considering VISA Internationals models only. Otherwise, you can hop right over King's Island or Cedar Point to ride either of their Huss Giant Frisbees which are 138 feet tall. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I just don't see how SW can claim this is the largest ride of its type. Regardless, 104 feet is nothing to scoff at...make no mistake, this ride is going to be AMAZING just to sit and watch, let alone ride. Silverwood, you have made a very good choice...hope you plan to put lots of benches near this ride because lots of people are going to be mezmerized just watching it.
The Barnstormer is apparently a Zamperla ride, though I couldn't find this model on their website at all. However, it is identical to the "Bugs Bunny Barnstormer" found at Six Flags Great Adventure. Should be a fun treat for parents and kids who are just starting to take the leap from the more tame kiddie attractions into something slightly more exciting.

^ Oh it's certainly the tallest ride of it's kind in the world, and not because of the manufacture. It's the world largest frisbee ride which goes upsidown compleately. Something which no giant frisbee does, and the only other frisbee rides which invert compleately are in Europe and not the US...until now.

^That's kinda what I was thinking - I didn't think any of the other frisbee rides went completely upside down. That thing is going to be crazy! I'm not too good with these kind of rides to be honest so I hope Bud is right in that they don't make you too terribly sick. I'll try it once, at least!
Based on the concept art, it looks like it will be next to Timber Terror over by Panic Plunge...which means it will likely be open for Scarywood, too.
I'm just glad to see the park adding some new things. This is sure to catch peoples' attention from the freeway.

Here's a POV of an Inverted Frisbee in Europe. The going upside down part looks pretty sweet/unreal. I don't think this ride is considered a giant frisbee though. I'm still trying to find a POV of one of those inverted. Definitely looking forward to the new ride!

Seriously, (and I'm sure I'm in the minoroty here) my first reaction after all of the "publicity' is a great big... *yawn*.
Nice to see them adding something but this certainly doesn't fit the bill. Not even the "second talled ride" unless you don't count a roller coaster as a ride. Although Silverwood and every other theme park in the world put their roller coasters under the category of "Rides" when you go to their web site.
I don't know, just very underwhelmed.

Does this thing make a full revolution upside down or not? Screamscape seems to suggest that it does NOT. I am asking about a FULL revolution. The park could claim it goes upside down and yet it still might not make a full revolution, as some of these rides swing to the point where riders are, for all intents and purposes, upside down.

Although Silverwood and every other theme park in the world put their roller coasters under the category of "Rides" when you go to their web site. I don't know, just very underwhelmed. As much as I wanted a coaster of some kind I knew to keep my expectations in line both with the descriptions and definitely once they announced they were adding more than one ride in a single year. This might offset a coaster addition for another few years but it is a good expansion it gives a greater variety to the park and gives something for the thrill seakers as well as families. Also seems most sites do say that inverting frisbees haven't really hit America yet and its the largest of this particular subsection of rides. Knowing Silverwoods size and budget I don't think we could expect much more for a park with its R&D. Silverwoods greatest strength will always be in unique execution and personal attention which is just fine by me. Anywho when I think of the barnstormer addition I can't help but wonder how exactly it will sit in the park which I guess we'll find out later. I tend to go at Scarywood and its been years since I'd go to an area like Garfields Summer Camp anyways, how's its layout? It feels like if this kind of ride was showcased in the right way it'd probably get decent lines and be fairly popular with families. I'd have to say that while I like certain areas of the park and their exectuion (like the paratrooper surrounded by bumper boats). I can't help but feel that if some sort of reorganization was done they could make the areas warmer and the rides more attractive? Some of the areas of the park seem to just have genius put into their feel and other places just feel too much like the flats were just dropped in. Maybe its the new entrance but sometimes I wonder if Silverwood could slowly work in some placemaking as they do these flat ride installations.

So Silverwood posted a video to their FB page of a ride just like the one coming to the park and, sure enough, it shows the ride making a complete revolution! So, I was wrong, and never have been so happy to be wrong! So I guess they can claim it is the tallest of its kind, and one of a kind in the US.
Great work Silverwood...very impressive! This thing is going to be INCREDIBLE to both watch and ride! Haven't been this excited since Aftershock! WOW!!!
