Just a heads up to anyone out there interested in Knott's Winter Coaster Solace next year. According to ACE, the event will be held March 2-3.
I have went the last two years in a row and plan on going again this year. It is a great event with several hours of ERT on ALL of the coasters and Supreme Scream. If you like Excelerator and Ghost Rider as much as I do then I highly recommend this event. Last year my wife and I made 10 passes on Ghost Rider without getting up out of our seats. And if you do feel like changing seats, unlike Silverwood's ridiculous policy, Knott's doesn't make you exit the station and walk all the way around back through the line. Oh, and Silver Bullet isn't too shabby of a ride either. Especially with NO line whatsoever ;D

I've heard of this event before, and, being a huge Knott's fan, I'd love to check it out sometime. I know what it's like to have no lines on some of those rides. At this exact time last year my wife and I went on our honeymoon to California, and we spent a day at Knott's. There wasn't anyone there at all. We went back to Xcellerator first thing and rode it three times in a row without getting off the ride because no one else had got back to that area of the park. Very nice indeed. Now Ghostrider, I've always had to wait for that one, but it's worth it. Are there any other cool things at this event other than the ERT? And by the way....the Silverwood rule is stupid, I agree!

If you just do the main event on Saturday you get an event T-shirt and usually a few other small items. Last year it was a souvenir mug and free on ride photo on Silver Bullet. Also there is a group lunch. ERT starts at 7:30 in the morning and runs until 10:00 on all the coaster except Silver Bullet and Ghost Rider. After the park closes, there is another two hours of ERT on Ghost Rider and Silver Bullet.
They also offer a deal at the Knott's Hotel. If you book Friday and Saturday night you get an extra 3 hours of ERT Friday night on Excelerator, Supreme Scream, Silver Bullet, and Ghost Rider. Also they do a very nice catered meal inside the park (weather permitting) in the large area under Silver Bullet by the entrance to the ride where they have raffle drawings and some friendly competitions and games.
At least that's what they have done the last two years. Should be about the same this year. It really is a very fun event. You not only have the rides to yourself, but the park too. Also, the only other people who are there are fellow coaster enthusiasts. I have found after attending four or five coaster enthusiast events that I have more fun when everyone I am with is as excited as I am about riding coasters. It just has a different feel that an average day at this park.
