I could definitely see the magic of visiting "The North Pole" using the train as a sort of polar express. It could be really beautiful and become a family tradition too. We get plenty of snow!

Management thought about it and then got smart and shelved it. Silverwood looks pretty during the winter, but Silverwood operating in the winter would be horrid.

Wow, they should reconsider! Leave the test if the park closed but the train and carousel, keeping the buildings open as a winter wonderland/north pole...one can dream. Although I did hear something about it in HR office

I think the operational costs would be too high for the Norton family to invest in an event like this. Scarywood didn't earn money until the third year.

That's weird. I thought Scarywood did earn a profit the first year. In fact, I thought that is why they expanded the second year.

That's weird. I thought Scarywood did earn a profit the first year. In fact, I thought that is why they expanded the second year. No the first year was a financial loss, but Scarywood returned the following year because management realized a Halloween event would work with the right amount of planning and investment. In 2010 Gore Galore was brought in and one million dollars was added to the Scarywood budget resulting in the 2010 basically breaking even. The third year Scarywood was able to ride the momentum of the second year making a profit for the first time. A surprising fact about Silverwood Theme Park is that it never made a profit until 1995.

This years Scarywood will be about the same as last year in my opinion. Scarywood in 2013 will be unique and I am really looking forward to that one.

Thank you Monkeybeast. I didn't know that. Here the whole time I was going with the assumption that Scarywood was a profit maker from the start. Ya learn something new everyday!
