I talked to a girl on youtube who went to the employee preview and according to her its mostly indoors and requires 3D glasses.
So if this is all true then its an entirely different kind of experience then what we've seen before which I think is great. I can't wait to see it!

Went to Scarywood on Saturday - had a great time! Here are my initial thoughts/reactions:
-3Dementia was definitely a good addition. It contained the elements from Mind Warp (the doors, and the spinning tunnel), but that was about 5% of the entire walk through. It was very long, with tons of great surprises and elements throughout. The 3D effects were all a lot of fun too. It was sometimes hard to tell what was real and what was just 3D. This was truly everything that Mind Warp could have and should have been. And it offered a very different experience verses the other haunts, which was good. Provided some much needed variety.
-Terror Canyon had a lot more theming in it and it really felt like you were a lot more enclosed. I liked all the trees and "forest" like feel that it had. And it was definitely a lot darker. Seemed like there were fewer actors though. Pretty much the same attraction as we've come to expect though.
-Train was almost exactly the same as last year, with just a few additional scenes at the end as you came back into the park. This year I noticed no zombies got onto the train, which was always one of the best parts - they should bring that back. We also got stuck in the front of the train, which wasn't as good. They started doing all the shooting after we had passed the sets a few of the times. Bummer.
-Blood Bayou was also pretty much the same as last year (a few different scenes but mostly the same) - definitely fewer actors inside the maze though. I missed the people that "flew" across the rafters - I thought that was really cool. It also seemed like some of the effects weren't working. But for the most part it was very similar to last year.
-The "oddities" scare zone was kind of lame. Just a bunch of strange exhibit-like things (i.e. fortune teller; bearded lady, etc.) that you could go look at, but nothing like what I expected from a scare zone. This seemed like kind of a waste to me.
-I liked that the park had put a bunch of little coffee/cocoa stands throughout the park, and even in some of the lines - that was really cool.
One funny thing that happened was we saw these kids go up to the guy at the start of the line for Blood Bayou, ask how long the wait was, and when he told them it was an hour, they all got mad and were like "Everything in this park sucks! You have to wait forever for everything!!" Ummm....yeah? And? You're at a Halloween event people...that's kind of what it's going to be like. I've noticed the complaints start to flood in to the SW facebook page again...so funny.
We also saw someone get totally busted for alcohol on Tremors at the end of the day - glad to see the park take that seriously.
So overall, I'm gonna agree with monkeybeast...I thought this year was very similar to last year. I'd definitely give it an overall improvement from 2011, especially with 3Dementia. But for the most part, it felt very much the same. Here's hoping they'll be making some drastic changes to mix things up next year.
On a slightly unrelated note I thought all the entryway improvements were great! I'm also looking forward to the highway project to be completely done. That will be great.

wow we must've been in line for Tremors at a similar time, when I was getting on the ghoster I heard the ride operators joking about somebody just having "grape juice". Were you one of the last rides of the night? I also felt like there was a depreciation in actors though it could simply be that things are spread a bit more thinly with the new additions. Blood Bayou seems to have more projection effects running now then I remember it having in years prior. Some of them work but they're not all dynamic enough. Blood Bayou's been one of my favorites but I think its starting to lose some of its impact on me because I've learned the layout too well which might be partially my own fault since I spammed it pretty heavy last year. Terror Canyon was also mostly the same. I'd agree that they seemed to have more trees and made it feel more narrow in sections. It seemed like early segments were actually a bit better lit then I'd have perfered though I liked the addition of actors inside the dark area again it worked well. Train was alot of fun, I liked it more this year then last. Not really sure why most of the pacing was similar but not all performances are really the same I suppose. The nudity gag seems to have been missing since 2010 I'm not sure why they mention it at this point maybe they should drop it from the warning. Oddities to me works, its much more laid back and peaceful then a real scare zone but its much more kid friendly and families seemed to enjoy themselves. The area its set in is pretty brightly lit anyways. A few more things could be done to tighten it all up but it seemed effective to me. I didn't bother with the fortune teller but I did see the severed head kept alive deal. I think this area will probably get refined next year kinda like how the clown area got its whole lighting package last year moving it towards being more overstimulating. 3Dementia was definitively the star. I went two nights just like last year and the first night I went it seemed alot of the gags either missed there timing for me or failed to go off. But on Saturday I hit every one and it was awesome I agree that its a very different tone from the other attractions which is good and its got a great playful sense to it. Easily my favorite part of my trip. I'll second the idea that not much changed of course and also feel that things may need to be mixed up a bit more dramatically next year. Blood Bayou in particular ought to get some tweaking unless the plan is to simply add yet another walkthrough to the attraction count Larger tweaks will keep the event more fresh and the fact that they get plenty of visitors should motivate them I think. I like how the new entry area forms a bit of a buffer after entering the park before truly entering the scare zones, its like a comfortable lobby area. I suppose the other thing that would boost Scarywood would be an addition to the park that can stay open year round like a new coaster . That'd definitely cause some shakeups with the capacity of the park in general I think.

A few replies on a few subjects
Zombies on the Train I think the reason might be due to safety concerns. I know of a few performers who got hurt on the train including someone hitting their head on the tracks.
StaffingI think Silverwood spread their talent too thin. I have heard that Silverwood is still hiring for talent so if anyone is interested call Silverwood and inquire.
No Scareactors in some scare zones There are a lot of parks that dress up areas in the park that serve as photo ops for guests. I also like the idea because it can build up suspense in the park.
Blood Bayou and Terror Trail I would be stunned if both of these are not retired after this year.

Blood Bayou and Terror Trail I would be stunned if both of these are not retired after this year. That'd make sense, it was a neat thing to do but I feel the show still manages without it. Its not like the train can be exactly flooded anyways and I liked that the final zombie run had more props this time. The train ride seems to improve incrimentally on a technical level. I really gotta agree with set dressing. I liked the feel of Oddities actually. While not as intense as the clown area it worked well in bringing a sense of Halloween around the park. I kinda feel like the main entrance area might do better with a few projection effects and some improved set dressing so they could up the scare actor density in other sectors of the park. I don't know why but I almost feel some sort of doomsday clock or other might be a neat thing to add around that area. Its too bad they don't already have some sort of central clock or fountain in the area they could theme up. Wow we are talking some serious revamps if Blood Bayou and Terror Canyon are BOTH retired at once. That'd be a pretty major shift, they've got alot of props invested in both but restructuring could really amp up the event.

I don't think Silverwood just decided to add two more days because the scareactors were scheduled to work through November 2nd in August.

I don't think Silverwood just decided to add two more days because the scareactors were scheduled to work through November 2nd in August. Well its odd in the sense that until today I hadn't seen that scheduling on their website. The event was announced as just the October weekends and that was how it was posted online. So something shifted them to revealing this about midway through the month. Maybe they wanted most of the tourists to show up earlier?
