As we all know, it's never too early to discuss/speculate about what's to come for the park, especially when rumors are around.
Today on Screamscape they posted this batch of rumors. It says for 2012 the park might add in a new wave of Topper Track for Tremors. (Update- I stand corrected on my previous statement, I took a look at a recent pov of the ride and while it was a little tricky to tell, you can spot the topper track on where calicoaster pointed out.)
Though the big, juicy rumor is for 2013.
This is a big "speak of the devil" moment considering yesterday in the Silverwood's Growing thread I posted my speculation that SW could be getting the brand new coaster from RMC.
Now I didn't email my speculation to Screamscape, so it seems like I'm not the only one who thinks this.

^ Actually, there was some added this year. The original prototype track was added back in 2010 on the turnaround near the entrance to Coaster Alley. This season they ripped out that topper track and added a new section in and extended it into, but ended it at the bunny hill section before Tunnel 3. They also added some just after Tunnel 2.

I rode Tremors multiple times this year with the new Topper Track sections and it was AWESOME. Seriously, night and day compared to what it was last year. It made a HUGE difference. I actually think Tremors is more rideable than TT now. I would LOVE to hear that the entire coaster (or even just additional sections) are getting this treatment for 2012.
As far as the new wooden coaster rumor...well...I've got to be honest...I'd like to see the park get something else besides another woodie. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd welcome ANY new addition to the park - especially a coaster. But to me there are many other things the park is lacking (dark ride, family coaster, new/better flat rides) that would be a much better fit at this point in time. Of course, if this coaster is for 2013, then maybe 2012 could mean adding something from my wish list above.

It seems possible to me that they might get the rumor from this site though which has me fearing that its some sort of self perpetuating deal. If signs continue to point towards something big and new for 2013 in Silverwood I will be happy though . The more things that they can have operating during Scarywood the better and it'd be another plus if whatever they add can also be turned backwards like Timber Terror. I don't mind if its another wooden coaster just as long as its something unique to the park itself or at least not something I've already experienced at Magic Mountain. If they do add another coaster I wonder if they'd do much of anything for 2012? What kind of flatride gaps do you guys think Silverwood has? I know it has alot of carnival staples but there ought to be a few more distinguished rides that can also add to the theme and setting. Actually it'd be pretty nice if Silverwood could take some time to theme and scenically coordinate its flat rides already there with a few others they could add in the future. I REALLY like how the paratrooper is setup with the bumper boats but a few other areas just don't feel as ideal to me I guess. Ultimately I still feel they should prep for a darkride or something family centric at some point. I don't think a family water ride would be a good idea for the next few years as it wouldn't operate during Scarywood and if people want to get soaked they'll probably head to the water park area.

I agree 100%! It's seems that if you get wet late in the day no matter what month you end up shivering through the night. And the fact they get on you for wearing your swimsuit on the rides that soak you drives me nuts!
A dark ride would give people a break from the heat in the summer and a chance to warm up during Scarywood. They are way over due for a dark ride.

^a dark ride....ONLY if done properly. If they don't take time to theme it properly and really keep it working correctly, it will become a joke and probably be the ride the park wants to get rid of the quickest. Silverwood: see Challenge of Mondor at Enchanted Forest. Even Disney went and checked that one out.
As far as the flat ride gaps, they are HUGE at Silverwood. Basically every flat ride they have is a type that has been in existence for at least 30 years or more. They are deperately in need of a few modern flat rides. There are so many out there now that are just jaw-dropping to watch, and actually fun to ride (some aren't even all that nauseating). Screamin Swing and Giant Frisbee are a couple that come to mind right away.
I also wouldn't blame them for taking a major stab at a complete Garfield Summer Camp overhaul with several new rides and attractions. The Frog Hopper and Butterflyer's popularity this last year alone would be enought to convince them that this could also be a good decision for 2012.

I suppose that is the biggest question, if Silverwood can properly theme AND maintain a darkride. Blood Bayou fills me with some hope for themed attractions in the park but then again Blood Bayou is only open for short periods of time. The security and maintenance would all be tricky for sure though if its interactive it would probably hold up better to time.
I'd definitely agree about it being a break from the elements. If they added one it might become popular at Scarywood simply because the only thing presently thats a break from the cold is Blood Bayou attraction wise.
Wow giant flat rides look scarier then coasters to me lol. I'm also noticing that the Gaint Frisbee would have greater capacity then the coasters because they all run single train.
Reshaping their kiddie area into something with a little more pull is good though I still think they need to round out the family rides somehow. Family rides should certainly remain on the list if a coasters in the future.
I will say that Coasters are also iconic and probably the easiest pull for attendance.

Got a couple updates at the moment. Unfortunatly, it looks like SW is not getting the new RMC coaster for 2013. According to a news article from the Spokane Journal, Silver Dollar City will be getting it. www.spokanejournal.com/article.php?id=7763(As you can also see, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will also be visited by RMC. An' with what's known, it looks like The Rattler will be getting the Iron Horse treatment that gave The Texas Giant new life.) The other update is something I noticed on the parks facebook, someone recently posted they drove by and was wondering what's going on with the parking lot. The park quickly replied Sounds like they are getting ready for that well needed highway expansion, and I'm curious to see what updates the front gate will be getting. As for future attractions, once again we'll have to wait and see. The park is pretty good at keeping things secret, so for all we know the park could be putting a new ride in, we just won't know till it's announced. Though I still feel that if anything big is comming, it'll be part of a expansion. (Probably 2013 and/or farther on.)

I'm looking forward to the Highway development. It will give me a much need feeling of safety when leaving the park. I would like to know more about their expansion plans but like you said, we'll just have to wait.

^In a way, I'm almost kind of glad to hear that the wooden coaster isn't going to Silverwood. I'm with Bud - I think the park could do with a lot of other things right now. They already have two great wooden coasters (especially with all the re-tracking on Tremors bringing it back to it's prime). While I'd certainly not turn my nose up at another woodie, I'm hoping to see some of the bigger "gaps" filled in the park's ride selection.
Very interested in seeing what the changes are to the front gate that they are working on!
