This looks like it will be one of the best parts of the ride IMO. A nice air time hill right out of the launch tunnel and then a low, over the water, banked turn. Yummy.

Now this is one bizzare looking lift hill. Or..........is it a launch hill? I don't know, either way, looks like a very fun ride. Think there's going to be any airtime on this coaster?

I think it is scheduled to open with the park in April but I'm not 100% on that. It's got to be early in the year though before peak season. With all the track already together if is just a matter of fine tunning the themeing and landscaping I would think. Also with the unusually mild weather they are having, I would think if anything they are ahead of schedule.

Historically, CP is pretty good about opening the rides with the park since they are seasonal.
I cannot begin to imagine the negative G's on Maverick over that first hill. You're being launched upward and then to take a 90+ degree drop over the top...that's going to be amazing.
Check the other photos on CP's website...you can see the ground roll over the lake, those sweet overbanks...everything that is going to make this coaster one wild ride.

Well, I'm surprised there have been no thoughts posted on the removal of the heartline roll on Maverick - the supposed "signature element". Bizzare.
But I still think the ride is going to be awesome.

Honestly, it really doesn't bother me at all that the heartling roll was removed. After riding Storm Runner a few weeks ago, I can say that the heartline roll was my least favorite part of the ride. I am impressed that they removed it and added the new track so quickly. It opened yesterday and all of the rider reviews I have read so far are positive.
Of course, I will be at Cedar Point to ride it myself in eight days!!!!!!!!
I will, as always, have a detailed trip report up, and give my thoughts on Maverick.
