Like I said earlier, my hat's off to Silverwood for keeping this a secret for quite some time.
Looking at what the stock models are for the MEGAtube slides over at Whitewater West...it's pretty easy to see that Ricochet Rapids is a custom slide. I also really like it that it'll be using AM's mountain, it's a great use of space and it'll look much better then if they put it up like any other big slide.

I had seriously planned on this being the first year in over a decade where I was NOT going to take a trip to Silverwood.
Guess I'll be going after all. And I've never been so happy to have to change my plans. Kudos to Silverwood again for continuing to expand and grow. The place just keeps getting better and better.

Nice! I wonder how it will compare with Silver Mountains family slide? I can't wait to see the finished product! Good job Silverwood!

Glad to see another addition. Boulder Beach is shaping up to be a very nice water park. Still far more exited and impressed with the addition of the topper track to Tremors

After watching the video a couple of times, I'm not sure what to think about the "ricochet" part of the ride where you supposedly rock back and forth through the tunnel. The video doesn't show much of that type of action...granted, it's just a computer video and possibly not very accruate.
Hoping the real ride will really send you up the sides of that pipe. I'm guessing it will since that seems to be the ride's big feature.
I wonder how much this will thin out the Avalanche Mountain line? That has always been one of my favorite slides but the wait can be horrible.
Also, I'm hoping they landscape the Ricochet Rapids side of the mountain as well as they have landscaped the Avalanche Mountain side. That is one of those things that really sets this apart from so many other slides - nice, quality landscaping on the mountain.

I think this is going to be a great addition to Boulder Beach, and a very nice way to use the other side of Avalanche Mountain. I, too, hope that the real ride will send you up the sides of the giant tube more than the video shows, but overall, I'm really glad to see that we got more than just two more kiddie rides this year.
I'm wondering if you're going to be able to see anything inside the slide, or if it will be completely dark like the other enclosed slides? When I went to the GWL a couple years back, their proslide tornado didn't have lights on the inside, so at night, it was pitch black in that slide, which was a blast, but that was also a really short ride. This thing could get interesting, with how long the slide is...
Anyways, hats off to Screamscape for guessing correctly what the 'more big news' was going to be, back when they originally posted that on their site a few months back.

Just noticed this update on Silverwood's website that the new slide is delayed. Originally was supposed to open by the end of June, but now it will be mid to late July due to "reasons beyond Silverwood's control".
That's kind of a bummer - hope they get it up sooner rather than later!!

That sucks that the new slide is delayed. Anybody know what happened?
With as simple of an attraction as this has got to be (it's not like installing a new coaster or something like that), I can't imagine what is causing the delay other than perhaps they simply don't have all of the pieces of the slide on site yet?

I don't think the delay will be that big of a deal. The weather here as been pretty cool and I have been holding off on going until it warms up more. It seems that when the temps rise so does the wind and that just isn't any fun at a water park. Hopefully the delay will be short and they will have it done in time for the hot days of summer. (If summer shows up this year)
