Ah Wild Waves, you never fail to make things interesting when it comes to who's owning and managing you. Here's a breif history of things. - The park opens in 1977 - Wild Waves is added in 1984 - The park is sold to Jeff Stock in 1992 - In 2000, Jeff Stock sells the park to Six Flags - In 2007, Six Flags sells the park to CNL Lifestyle Properties...who lease the park to PARC Manangement. - Recently PARC had a bout of bankruptcy, leaving Wild Waves with no management. Now, CNL has announced the park will be managed by NorPoint Entertainment...which is being founded and created specially for the park by...Jeff Stock. www.pnwlocalnews.com/south_king/fwm/business/114596329.htmlFunny how things come full circle, though Stock wants to "reinvigorate the park as well as its presence in the community". Well good luck with that Stock, though I find it amusing he pointed out the park was ignored for too many years under previous management. Well he certainly got that right, the park hasn't had a headliner attraction since 2003.

Wild Waves has always frustrated me for a number of reasons:
First, the space constraints. I'm tempted to say they should simply move to a new location where they can grow in the future, and also where they aren't butting up against a neighborhood that is going to complain every time a new ride is proposed.
Second, the rides they do have are not much to write home about. Either standard off-the-shelf carnival rides or very tame, vanilla roller coasters. There's nothing in that park to justify going out of your way to make a visit.
And third, I'm not a fan of urban-based parks. To me, the majority of them attract the wrong type of crowd.
That all said, here's to hoping that they make some positive changes. I haven't had any desire to go there in the past 10 years or so. It's an insult to the millions of people in the Puget Sound region that this is the best (and now only) theme park the area has to offer.
