I know that Silverwood has had five meetable characters in the park (Buddy Bear, Rachael Raccoon, Jingles, Garfield and Odie) but does anybody know if Snoopy appeared in the park?

Plain and simple, nope. Penuts characters have mainly been a part of Knott's Berry Farm (and now Cedar Fair).

I don't recognize the bear/racoon/jingles? I thought the kitten character from Garfield also did appearances? you realize characters cost a bit in licensing right? I wish they'd do a bit more for photo ops but honestly I wish they'd invest more in scenery then in any of that.

Buddy Bear was an original character that first appeared at Silverwood in 1999 and was joined by Rachel Raccoon in 2000. They would walk around the entire park, ride the train and danced before the ice show. Jingles the Gorilla was the spokesman in 2001 and was used by marketing for events outside the park and would appear in the RCA for a quick meet and greet at the park. In 2002 Silverwood signed a three year contract with PAWS inc. to use Garfield and Odie as their mascots and have since renewed the contract to continue the use of the characters. The reason why I asked about Snoopy is because when Silverwood used to have the airshows I was told Snoopy would come out before the show started. I was just trying to confirm if this was true.

Garfield on the other hand seems to be pretty free to do as he pleases. Kinda sad they got rid of the old characters then. Maybe I'm just not looking closely enough but I never notice the characters much in Silverwood except I guess the special event they held on Halloween. I don't visit Silverwood as much as the rest of the people on this forum I suppose. I just keep an eye out since its the closest park to my actual home.

I have never fully understood Garfield as the mascot of Silverwood. I guess I thought it should be more of a character that ties more into the environment of North Idaho, the mountains, trees, etc. if it had been my park, I would have a woodland type mascot there, and one that was there more often. We go to Silverwood alot, and we rarely ever see Garfield roaming around. We did get a picture finally with him last year. I think it is still not too late for Silverwood to develop their own mascot, (such as the Spokane Indians creating "Otto") then people would tie in the created mascot to Silverwood Park they way people tie in Otto to Spokane Indians baseball. It would have been great if it had been created from the beginning of the park, but since Silverwood is not too old yet, I think a personal mascot would be best. Of course Garfield could still come visit!

I used to go to Silverwood as a kid back in the late 80's and early 90's and Snoopy was featured as the "host" of the airshow.

Considering Snoopy and the Red Baron are closely related, it wouldn't surprise me if Kyle's testimony was accurate, albeit it not being Snoopy but rather a knockoff.

I used to live near what use to be called Henley Aerodrome. Now it is called Silverwood. I can confirm that it was Snoopy and not a knockoff. We use to watch the dog fights (not the Michael Vic kind) and they would throw out rolls of toilet paper and try to fly through the streaming paper.
As much as you can't imagine Silverwood without Garfield I have never gotten use to him as being the mascot.
