Hey All. I got a chance to attend the opening of the new Haunted Castle dark ride at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk this last Friday. I know some of the "regulars" on this site are dark ride enthusiasts so I figured you would enjoy this report. The full report with on-ride video can be read here... www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55545Really a great ride. Would love to see something like this at SW.

Thanks for the video, Skylark.
I have to say SCBB did a very nice job with it, the ride certainly uses a nice mix of old and new gags. From the pepper's ghost illusion to switch the knights head, to the rippling plank effect in the swamp which I though was pretty dang nifty.
I also agree I'd like to see something like this at SW, then again I'd like to see any dark ride at SW. Weather it be a traditional one, a interactive one...or a Vekoma Madhouse. (I swear, I have a HUGE soft spot for that kind of darkride.)

Screamscape just posted a link to my report! Glad the ride is getting some well deserved attendtion. It isn't just a blow you away ride, but for a park as small a SCBB to invest that kind of ride into that park really says a lot. It's really nothing more than a typical state fair with an exceptional woodie and a Double Shot. Baically, it's the Puyallup Fair set on the California coast.

Very cool! I need to head back down there again. I've always enjoyed their Giant Dipper coaster.
