^ I agree, Bud, that Mitch's poll makes for an interesting discussion and that Screamscape makes a valid point. I can't believe more people aren't upset about Aska (a coaster that has been SBNO for over two years) is in the top ten. And just to repeat what I already said, it makes no sense to me to think that a coaster that is nearly an exact mix of two of the top five coasters in the world couldn't end up at number one. The poll always fluctuates as more people ride and re-ride coasters. Boulder Dash obviously shot up the poll this year because a lot of people rode it this year and found it was running better that ever. To me, you could make an argument for any one or the coaster in the top ten deserving a number one spot.
Where I disagree with you, Bud, is when you say "it seems people either love or hate TPR". I think it is far more a matter of a small percentage of people either posting negative remarks about TPR (Robb, to be more specific) or posting to defending TPR. I think the vast majority of people fall somewhere in middle and wouldn't really take the time to blast or defend it. They enjoy the site for what it is and they also enjoy other sites for what they are. I personally kind of like smaller forums like this one or CoasterFanatics. I've been a TPR member for several years but I rarely post to the main forums just because they are so huge. Heck I don't even have time enough to keep up with everything over there.
Bottom line, I could honestly care less if anyone hates TPR. You know what? If you hate the site, DON'T VISIT IT! Where it gets to me is seeing all these personal remarks about Robb from people who have no clue what type of person he really is. Surely there are better things to do with your time than worry about someone you don't even know.
