^Hey Wolfblood - totally unrelated question but since you're up in Everett - did you feel the earthquake this morning? My wife and I live in Lynnwood and we slept through the whole thing. I still have yet to speak with someone who actually noticed it, so I thought I'd ask...
Anyways, with regard to this whole Halloween event thing, I must say I'm very interested to see if they do it. I really hope they do, I think they could do so many cool things there. And it makes perfect sense because it won't be as expensive of a thing to do as, say, adding a huge new ride, but it will still draw a lot of attention to the park.

I didn't feel a single thing, in fact there were no signs in my house that a earthquake happened. It's was far too short and weak to have any noticable effect up here. Back on track, I gotta say once again that Silverwood should get to doing a Halloween event. It's a really popular kind of event for any park, more so then Christmas. Even though it does get cold up here, that hasn't stopped Wild Waves and various places in the Northwest from doing a event. Though I will say I hope Silverwood will have a good mindset in having a lot of hot food availible. (That's one major downside to Wild Waves Fright Fest, a sheer lack of hot food to get in the park.)

Well, it hasn't been posted on the park's website, but I picked up a brochure for 2009 when I was at the store yesterday, and it doesn't appear that a Halloween event is planned at all. However, for all of the weekends in October/November that the park is open for, they are having this "OktoberFest Family Appreciation Month" deal. Here's what it says:
"1/2 price general admission ($20.49 all ages) and for each ticket purchased at the front gate, you'll receive a FREE ticket valid for May 2010. Plus SAVE 50% on all retail merchandise (excluding: food, candy, beverages and photos)."
Sounds like a pretty cool deal, but sad that the Halloween rumor appears to not be true...maybe next year?

That's really a great deal, though. I may just have to make a trip out there in Oct. The woodies run so great late in the year in the cool weather anyway.

Too bad. I thought they could really have fun with a Halloween event or Halloween weekends.
I suspect they will get there eventually. But until that time they are missing out on a HUGE opportunity to draw massive crowds. Just look at the parks that do Halloween events...it's one of their busiest times of operation.
Somehow I don't see "OktoberFest" getting the same type of results. But maybe I'm wrong.

Well I am excited about the possibility. I live in Spokane so it wouldn't be a problem for me. I can't wait for more news.

Well even though they are not going with a Halloween event just yet (Chances are, they're sticking with the plan of waiting for the Hotel to be built before doing a event.), I still gotta say the Oktoberfest thing does sound like a good deal. (Especially since they can really see how the weather is for that month.)

While looking at the special days I noticed this: American Hero Weekend Memorial Day Weekend - May 24-25-26, 2009 — All military personnel, police officers & firefighters (identification required) receive FREE admission to the park and their immediate family members (spouse & children) are 1/2 Price General Admission when they purchase their tickets at the Silverwood's front gate.I guess hero's are only hero's while they have an ID card.
