For 3 days.
Can't wait to check out the "new" Space Mountain, as well as Monsters Inc.
Pirates will be down, but all other rides are planned to be up and operating.
Disneyland is my favorite park out there. DCA has a few nice rides, and is getting better each year.
I'll bring back a trip report with me next week... ;D

Space mountain is great IMO and the Monsters Inc dark ride is one of Disney's best (again IMO). Have fun and make sure you catch the 50th anniversary fireworks show. It is simply amazing.

Yeah, I agree, the new space mountain is great. Much better than it used to be. I haven't been on the Monster's Inc. ride, so I'll be curious to hear your opinion. Skylark's right, the firework show is pretty sweet, also make sure you check out Fantasmic if it is still showing. That is the most amazing show at DL, IMO.

Just got back after 3 days at my favorite theme parks in the world. As usual, they didn't disappoint one bit. Rather than a boring, overblown trip report, here are the highlights:
First off, I will say that Space Mountain was great. I don't remember it being that much fun before. I really enjoyed the "launch" and "re-entry" effects. Especially how that blinding light hits you during re-entry and it seems for a moment like you can't see a thing!
Monsters Inc is now my favorite Disney dark ride, bar none. And I'm really trying to be as objective as possible about that, not just because it is new. Very cool ride and lots of great special effects. The "Roz" at the end was incredible! How do they get her to say things specifically to the people in your car!?!? Amazing!
One other ride that was very cool was the Haunted Manion - they have changed the attic and now there is a very creepy bride (3-d hologram) holding a boquet of flowers that changes into an axe and she says things like "till death do us part" and "i do....i DID!" And all through the room are pictures of her and different husbands whose heads mysteriously vanish from the paintings. The room is also covered in the treasure that she apparently "stole" from the grooms when she killed them. It added a cool storyline to the ride, but also made that room a lot more evil and creepy! Very well done!
Finally, I have to comment that Tower of Terror is a great ride. The first time I rode it a year ago I was a bit let down - I guess my expectations were too high or something. But this time I rode it twice and found that I really enjoyed it a lot. So that ride has redeemed itself in my eyes.
I got to see Fantasmic for the first time (and then saw it again a second night) and must say that it lived up to all the hype. In all my years going to the DLR I had never seen that show. Awesome.
And the fireworks show was great too. I wouldn't quite put it at the level of Fantasmic, but it was really cool to see all the fireworks for each of the rides and attractions in the park. I especially liked the Haunted Mansion part of the show. The castle looked cool with all the "vines" all over it.
So those are the highlights of my trip...hope to go again next year and see the new Pirates, as well as possibly the Nemo sub ride, if it's open by then...

Nice to see you had a good time. I also liked the Haunted Mansion part of the firworks show the best and agree that it is not on the same level as Fantasmic. I have always loved Fantasmic (I saw it the first year it opened and have seen it at least twice every year sense) As I consider the Haunted Mansion and Pirates to be dark rides I wouldn't go so far as to say Monsters Inc is my favorite but it is pretty darn good.
Anyway, nice TR and glad you had fun.
