So in the Podcast, Gary Norton mentioned that Silverwood has a project they are working on, planned to open in 2015, and that it will be "a major, major development....so bizzare, nobody would do what we are going to do....I have been studying for 6-7 years....will add another 1/2 or 1/3 again to the park size....."
Is this the long-rumored hotel in the theme park?
A new record-setting coaster from RMC?
Something else?
What do you think!?!?!?!?

I think it's best to say "Expect the unexpected", the park has been really good at keeping things secret, that and Gary has mentioned he prefers to do things different. The only things we can really go off of is what he said.
With that said, I'm not really sure it's a hotel. Mainly due to the comment that this development is so bizzare that nobody would do what they are. Especially since there are parks which do have hotels onsite and/or in the park.
Coaster from RMC? Unless it's ungodly massive, I don't think this will add a 1/3 or 1/2 to the size of the park. Now with that said, I'm looking forward to the year they do get one. With the relationship the park has with RMC, you know one has got to be in the pipeline somewhere. An' I'm both excited and terrified in the best way possible, RMC is turning into a juggernaut of making coasters that are pushing the boundries of what a woodie can do. New Texas Giant, Iron Rattler, Outlaw Run, Goliath, Medusa Steel...whenever Silverwood get's one, it's going to be something special, I can feel it.
No matter what this may be, it's going to be big and off the charts. Also, I do believe we'll be seeing construction fairly soon due to the size of it.

well as you all know, I'll always have my fingers crossed for a darkride or other heavily themed expansion. I'm pretty much down for anything other than a hotel. A Hotel would be cool, but it's not the sort of expansion that would really get me too excited. I'm really not sure what sort of unprecedented expansion the owners are thinking off really.

I seem to recall in one of the older RCA interviews that someone at the park mentioned a golf course was an option in the long-term plans for the future. As crazy as it sounds, I have to wonder if this may be the thing that he's referring to? I would much rather seen new rides and attractions, of course. But everything adds up - we'd all think he was crazy, it would add 1/3 to 1/2 to the size of the park, bizarre, etc.
At this point, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. It's the "1/2 to 1/3 to the park" that has me confused - because that can't be just a single ride. Even a big coaster wouldn't come close to that much. Could be some kind of possible new "land" of some sort, but I don't know.
The hotel is possible, but I don't think people would say he was crazy for doing that - it's a pretty common thing to see at parks.
I'm excited to find out what it will be, but hoping I'm wrong about the golf course.

yeah I hope your wrong too. Golf really isn't my thing and wouldn't increase my stay or frequency of visits. I guess I have a few friends that might enjoy it. But I don't see the crossover in markets.
As a theme park person golf courses actually annoy me in the space they eat up that could go to more rides and park. I'm just going to keep an open mind and wait and see what goes in.

I have to say, a golf course fit's with what was mentioned. If it is what it is, then so be it. Though no matter what it is, I'm fairly certain we'll be seeing construction next year due to the size of it.

Last week was IAAPA, and a couple news tibits happened for Silverwood reguarding a couple coasters.
At IAAPA, Silverwood bought a kiddie spinning coaster from SBF Visa (I can imagine the success of SpinCycle was a little factor to it.). I think it's a fairly nice choice considering that helps balance out the rides and gives the kids another coaster to ride besides Tiny Toot.
Here's a video of the coaster, a simple figure eight...but it looks like you can get spinning pretty good on this thing.
I can imagine this might actually debut at SW next year.
Now the other coaster...as a heads up there's no definative year for this, but it's going to happen down the line.
Theme Park Review was asking some very good questions to manufactures, and one of the questions was this. "What has been your favorite ride proposal that never got built?"
Fred Grubb of Rocky Mountain Construction gave this reply
"At Silverwood Theme Park we proposed a ride, and we will build it someday. An we're really excited, we really wanna' build that ride. But it's never been built."
I think it's safe to say that whenever Silverwood does put in a new woodie, it's going to be from Rocky Mountain Coasters. This is exciting, and also terrifying considering these guys are creating some of the most twisted and insane wooden coasters on the planet.
Also, considering Alan Schilke of RMC has mentioned that we can expect that the upcomming rides are going to keep pushing the envelope, getting a little bigger, a little crazier and longer rides...Silverwood's could be downright bonkers. It's certainly something to look forward to, don't know when...but it's waiting.

^What's your source on the kiddie coaster? TPR as well? Looks like a fun little ride for kids, though I wish it was a larger version. I wonder what the height restrictions will be on this? I can imagine if it is supposed to be for little kids it would be pretty low height requirements. At least, that's my hope, but it is a spinner after all.
Cool info about the RMC ride proposal - I agree that both their coasters look completely insane. I would love to see one of their rides wind up in Silverwood, so hopefully it will happen at some point.

^ Yup, forth post down from Joey (Jew) confirms it. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66571&start=200Myself I'm fine that it's a smaller ride, it'll strengthen the line up for the kiddie/family rides which the park does need more of. As for RMC, I'm really excited for the future since if a park is going to get a big, over the top woodie, they're the ones to get it from. I'd also say Intamin's Pre-Fab woodies, but with RMC's relationship with Silverwood, I knew they'd be one to get a proposal going.

It would be excellent to see RMC come in and create THE ultimate wooden coaster experience right here at their "home park". This could be the one that pushes SW up into a completely new level. I have been on Outlaw Run, and, let me say from experience that I have never ridden any wooden coaster anywhere that even comes close. Silverwood could be on the brink of something that is a true game changer the likes of which the entire Northwest has never seen before.
